Mohammad bin Salman, the defence minister and the son of the current chief of the Al-Saud tribe, Salman.

He is responsible for this operation.

This ridiculous and stupid war must end. Only a political solution can work!

Iran, the GCC must listen to Algeria on how to resolve this crisis!

None of these parties have any honour be it Iran, Saudi, Hadi, America, Saleh or the Houthis.

The Houthis have also caused a lot of problems and are allegedly quite brutal.

The only innocent people in this horrible conflict are the poor ordinary Yemenis both in Yemen and now the ones being targeted by the Saudi regime inside Saudi.

This violence from both the Houthis and Saudis needs to stop.

Excellent articles in this section Bengal_Tiger. As long as the Wahabi regime is there, there would be dreadful Wahabi fanatic Islamism spreading from it. This regime is a blot on the face of earth.

                Update:

                - A Saudi soldier has been killed in Saudi-Houthi clashes on the Yemeni-Saudi border.

Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raajioon.

May Allah have mercy on him and all the other victims of this horrible conflict regardless of which side they are on.

The dead soldier is clearly not slim. This is a major requirement for most armies especially as being overweight reduces the ability to move quickly, which is essential in warfare.

I have no idea what the Saudi army is doing and who trains them (apart from the useless Pakistani army) but they need proper planning and training.

                - Houthis have taken the centre of Aden and are reported to have captured the presidential palace.

                - Saudi troops are reported to have landed inside Aden, which they have naval ships next too.

                The carnage continues!

                Aden!

Family in Aden #Yemen now: "No electricity, extremely hot/humid, no gas, no water, homes randomly shelled" Oh God!

                - Saudi says Pakistan is going to join the killing.

Houthis are also reported to be carrying out war crimes.

Neither side in this conflict is innocent.

                  Commentary:

                  1. This may be the decisive battle for Yemen.

If the Saudis are not able to end Houthi control of Aden, which is only the 2nd city and where the Saudis have air supremacy and naval supremacy it is very unlikely they will be able to take Sana'a which is bigger and which is inland.

                  2. If the Saudis cannot establish control of either Aden or Sana'a then that means the "legitimate" president of Yemen, Hadi has no city for his "government" to operate in.

In other words the Saudis have failed in their stated goal of reinstating him in to power.

If Yemen collapses as a country then it will be a 24 million people land of misery and starvation on Saudi's doorstep with blood and tribal connections to many Saudis.

The Saudis need to listen to this man.....

                  Algerian foreign minister, Ramtane Lamamra.

It seems that Algeria may be the only country on the planet now to be able to mediate successfully for an end to this conflict and a political process which brings an end to the fighting.

                    Burial of dead Saudi soldier.

Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raajioon.

Saudi Pakistani military exercise in Saudi Arabia this week.

A Yemeni girl victim of Saudi bombing.

I suspect the Pakistanis have had a major role in planning this operation and advising the Saudis in the same way the Pakistanis had a major role in advising Sri Lanka when they bombed the LTTE in an operation which was so savage it was almost genocidal (worst case figure I personally heard, though probably an exaggeration, from a Tamil taxi driver here in London was 200,000 Tamils killed in the operation).

All eyes are now on Algeria, can the Arab world's largest country rein in all sides and bring an end to fighting?

A graphic pupporting to show the current military situation in Aden, the Houthis are in green, "Ansarullah" is the official name of their organization:

Aden looks about to fall in to the hands of the Houthis.

After 1 week of bombing Saudi Arabia will have achieved nothing.

Shi'ite fighters go next to the Iraqi-Saudi border, probably a warning and message to Riyadh.

Saudi tanks reported to be being transported close to the Yemeni border.

Saudi defence minister and son of the ruler Salman is leading the operation, pictured in white with scarf.

2 more Saudi border guards reported to have been killed near the border with Yemen.

Fighting continues in Aden, two ambulance men reported to have been killed by Houthi fighters.
