• Obama to go in over 20 months

Barack Obama the current president of the USA has around 21 months left in power and then he will permanently be out of office as president just as George W Bush, Bill Clinton are.

What do people think of him?

    How will he be remembered?

I have my opinions but I would like to hear everyone else's first.

Thanks in advance for your opinions.

Personally, I consider him along with Kerry and Bill Clinton as noble people. You know America is a gigantic imperial structure with many centers of power and it is beyond the ability of a single person to influence its policies. Besides a power as big as America has got its momentum due to share size and it needs time to re-orient its policies.

The real problem in America in my opinion is the religious right and the Republicans (may be not all but of course the majority) who are pushing America towards a real confrontation with the rest of the world.

Manana Toramana Lala for your input.

So if he is restricted in what he can do due to the huge size of the US federal government and the ruling establishment (e.g. big companies, universities, top media), how much power does he have?

How wide are the parameters of his actual real authority?

          Son,

I'm a fraction Navajo - but technically yes I am an American citizen. I like some of Obama's policies, but I think he is a politician like most of them are. I tend to vote democrat, but there are some republicans like Walter Jones that I admire! You bring back fond memories. My Allie and I traveled through what is now Bengladesh as a side detour of our hippie treck before it was even its own state. Good memories but the food was like setting my mouth ablaze and hard to tolerate.

Bengal_Tiger, I was quite happy when he got elected by the American people. In addition to him offering a 'change' in political affairs; him being a 'black' president in the US with it's history is allready a 'change'. Minorities will have hope. Concering his politics and what he has accomplished I wouldn't know, maybe you can enlighten me. Did he really bring 'change'? Or is he just a puppet :p?

You did have me thinking, do we have a black politician in the parliament in the first place? I dont think so. And quite honestly, I don't see this happen anytime soon.
But hey! Dutchies do have a Latina Queen, allthough it doesn't benefit at all.

Yep Obama being elected was overall a good thing because at least the dude was a "brother", a fellow person of colour, a black man.

US policies are more or less the same regardless whoever is in power and unlike in Europe where whichever party/coalition wins the ministers are only from that party/coalition in the US you can have a Democrat president like Obama who has senior ministers who are Republicans, surprising as it may seem to us Europeans!

So if things are fundamentally the same anyway it doesn't matter if Obama or someone else was in power, so it's better to have Obama because he's a caramel coloured bro...

Your queen is Argentine...wouldn't really call her Latina (maybe culturally but not ethnically as in Mestiza or with American Indian blood) as she is white basically.

Anyway at least you had a Moroccan mayor in your arch-rival city of Rotterdam (or Rougher-dam as some of your youth call it...lol) and a black manager of the national soccer team.

Even Obama would be jealous of those dreads!

Clay Guida calls out Barack Obama, UFC champ dos Anjos and more in post-fight speech

Clay Guida talks Easter, Obama, and wrestling
                APR 04, 5:20 PM

Clay Guida has a lot on his mind after a unanimous decision win over Robbie Peralta.

When a quote from the classic comedy "Billy Madison" is the first thing that comes to mind following a post-fight speech, you know you've got a good one on your hands.
After thoroughly dominating an extremely tough opponent in Robbie Peralta at UFC Fight Night: Mendes vs. Lamas, UFC veteran Clay Guida got his chance to make a lasting impression on the Fairfax, Virginia, crowd. And boy, did he ever take advantage.

"Happy Easter to everyone that came here in person on such a sacred holiday weekend . . . I know there's a Final Four going on. Secondly, with all due respect to Mr. Obama, I don't know if you're out golfing, hopefully you're attending to our important united affairs. But hey, don't forget about the world's fastest growing most popular sport, UFC, and it all starts with wrestling."

Guida managed to hit on Easter, the NCAA basketball tournament, U.S. President Barack Obama and NCAA wrestling all in the first 20 seconds of mic time. That was only the beginning to this epic speech that went on to include a call-out of current UFC champion and prior opponent of Guida, Rafael dos Anjos . . . and much more.

I'm sure Obama is listening to him.
