Anti-Islam hate crimes triple in London after Paris attacks
4 December 2015
The majority of incidents reported have been classed as 'harassment' by the Met Police
The number of Muslims attacked each week in London has more than tripled since the Paris attacks, figures show.
The Met said in the week prior to the attacks on 13 November there were 24 recorded Islamophobic incidents. Two weeks after there were 76.
Mussurut Zia from the Muslim Women's Network UK said the community was "fearful" but people of other faiths had come forward in "solidarity".
The Met said "regretfully" hate crime increased during "difficult times".

The force's figures show the annual number of incidents have also increased with the majority of reports relating to harassment.
The 12 months up to October 2014 saw 576 incidents reported which increased by 47.6% to 845 the following year.
Recorded Islamophobic offences:
Week ending 10 November - 24
Week ending 17 November - 46
Week ending 24 November - 76
Ms Zia said: "We've had people coming forward and telling us about being avoided in the shopping mall, people refusing to sit next to them on the bus.
'Suffer in silence'
"Then you've got the physical aspect with coats and scarves being yanked... In terms of fear it's increased since Paris"
She said some in the community were also concerned the air strikes in Syria had "increased the likelihood of them being targeted", but that people of all faiths had been offering "support and solidarity".
"I was getting tired that each time something happened I had to come out and say 'I was not part of that', but now having people of other faiths saying 'we're with you' and it's 'us against them' it's a positive out of something so negative," she said.
The Met said it was providing extra patrols and had more than 900 officers investigating hate crime.
It said a greater willingness to report crimes may account for part of the spike, but it was "acutely aware" Islamophobia remained "under reported" and "no one should suffer in silence"
'Unsafe in my own city'
Saba Zaman said she had noticed more people looking at her since the events in Paris
Saba Zaman, case study
Saba Zaman, a documentary producer from London, says she has seen an increase in attacks against Muslim women since the terror attacks in Paris.
Three days after the 13 November shootings, a man allegedly spat at her and called her a "dog" as he got off a Tube train.
"I didn't realise until he got up and I saw his spit all over my paper," she said. "I was seething, I found it funny but in such an ironic way. I didn't know how to react to something like that," she said.
A few months before, she reported a more serious incident when a man grabbed her hijab.
"I was so shaken up, I got into work and burst straight into tears," she said. "It was the first time since 7/7 I've felt so unsafe in my own city."
Ms Zaman said she had noticed more people looking at her in the last month and has since become "territorial" towards other Muslim women on public transport. She said she had intervened in another incident where a Muslim woman on the Tube was pushed and insulted for "wearing a ninja outfit".
"If I see another Muslim woman on the Tube, now I get on the same carriage just in case something might happen," she added.
Favourite to be next Dutch PM vows to BAN the Koran and CLOSE all mosques
THE front-runner to become the next Dutch Prime Minister has vowed to ban the Koran and to close all mosques in the country.

Geert Wilders has vowed to ban the Koran if he becomes Dutch PM
Geert Wilders, leader of the Dutch Freedom Party (PVV), called for the total "de-Islamification" in a controversial manifesto posted online.
The far-right MP, who has previously compared the Koran to Adolf Hitler's Mein Kampf, also vowed to put an end to immigration from Islamic countries.
He would also close all Islamic schools and asylum centres, and ban Muslim women from wearing the headscarf in public, if elected prime minister next year.
The PVV currently leads the pack in almost every opinion poll amid growing anger at the Dutch government’s handling of the refugee crisis.
It is on course to take 35 seats in the 150-seat Dutch Parliament, about 10 seats more than the ruling Liberal party, led by prime minister Mark Rutte.
Mr Wilders also promised to do all he can to hold a referendum on Netherlands' membership of the EU following June's historic Brexit vote.
Sybrand van Haersma Buma, leader of the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA) party, branded Mr Wilders' plans "utterly bizarre and unbelievable".
He added: "The programme will further polarise Dutch society."
The PVV currently leads the pack in almost every opinion poll
Mr Wilders last month said he was "proud" of his tough stance on Islam after claiming the Netherlands "can't take any more" refugees from Syria and Iraq.
The outspoken leader added: "I also don't have a problem with people from Slovakia and Lithuania. But I do have a problem with immigration from Islamic countries.
"The EU leaves us no freedom to determine our own immigration and asylum laws. That's why leaving the EU is necessary."
Islamophobia is a problem for more reasons than you think. Anyone who's living in one of these first world countries knows for a fact that it's basically just thinly veiled racism against anyone of middle eastern and central asian and portions of south asia. This means anyone from that region, whether they're a geerawal or not. Even those who are not religious fall in this category.
The problem here is that a lot of the local people are accustomed to a much more socialist way of life i.e. handouts by the government. Such is not the case in most of the countries in the regions mentioned above. However, now we're seeing the debt bubble in an extremely fragile state. Most of the people in first world countries live and die in debt. Globalization has replaced them with either mechanical parts of cheaper labor overseas.
In comes immigration. Amongst the immigrants they see, it'll either be Muslims, Indians, or Oriental types (usually Chinese). With Islamophobia, the advantage that many muslims have is they're not swimming in debt, and therefore a lot of these supremacists themselves seem to think that we're merely "economic tourists" i.e. we're there to reap some economic benefits, and take that back to no benefit to the underclass of theirs. They're seeing their incomes and living standards drop, meanwhile muslims migrate and are essentially taking their jobs, and now they find themselves working as wait staff or kitchen staff serving to muslims in their own country. This is more of the true cause of Islamophobia than any bombing or any bull****.
It's merely an attempt at an embargo of people that will likely gain economically if given the chance. A lot of these supremacists secretly (and in many cases, like stormfront, not so secretly) despise the jews with all their heart. The jews, however, are a small percentage of their population. They don't have to see them all the time since they're so few in numbers. Increase that a bit to the extent theoretically possible with more muslims and all of a sudden they're flipping a lid.
Also, the hijab thing doesn't look great in my opinion, but to them it's ****ing alien/savage/whatever it is they think, and the thought that their kitchen staff/local labor class is serving someone that looks ****ing weird is painful for them.
Why they don't show the same animosity to sikhs, I don't know. Maybe because sikhs are garbage and have never succeeded in creating their own country and are essentially known as a clown race. A member of their own created a joke book about them (Khushwant Singh). There are a lot of sikhs too, but in my experience, the smart ones are much more the exception than the norm. Although, I suspect if there were no Muslims, they would start targeting sikhs.
I should also specifically say, this isn't only a white people thing. Anyone who's been to the US, especially NYC, can probably say with certainty that they've met more nigg3rs and a lot more spicks that are openly racist against them than white people. Lower class Mexicans are probably the worst when it comes to Islamophobia. I was at a convenience store once and I saw a dumb Mexican who could BARELY speak English go on and on with the shop keeper (some punjabi/mohajir muslim from Pakistan) about his beef with Islam. The guy was probably some **** manual labor idiot who got paid below minimum under the table.
TL;DR some people are scared of losing their increasingly shrinking free lunch and now want to shut the doors to everyone. The religion/race card is an excuse. They also want to eliminate great innovations like globalization and free trade, but that has nothing to do with Islamophobia.
Just my opinion... feel free to disagree.
Having said all that... in my experience, many people are smart, educated, and not as racist as Geert Khre Kus. In fact, I would say there is a big share of a lot of very good people, and thankfully, I've met some that I have a lot of good things to say about... however, there is still **** in society, and in some places it's growing, and the above is basically articulating the ****.

Reason: I think I'm generalizing about white people too much...

Actually sikhs are biggest victim of islamophobia in USA, more so then actual muslims males. Females are mostly muslim women who wear hijab. Reading your post seem like you need to sort of some race issues of your own.
Geert Wilders is actually winning. According to polls he will get the most seats in the parliament in the upcoming elections. Other parties mimick his nazi rhetoric to retain their own share in Dutch parliament.
He is spared by the media, other political leaders are scared of him and won't attack or confront him and his unconstitutional policy plans.
If he wins, I will move to another country.

Not entirely correct. Off the top of my memory, there were 2 sikh attacks that took place, and both were because they were mistaken for Muslims. 1 after 9/11 someone got beaten to death. Another 5/6 years back for some reason I can't remember. Contrast that with Islamophobia. Both beatings to death and general discrimination. I recall in the UK some guy got beaten to death for being Muslim probably back in 2004. While you are right that Sikhs have indeed been targeted, to say they're the biggest victims is very unrealistic.
Also, important to point out: if you ever watch the Britian first stuff on facebook, you do see from time to time sikh people jumping on their bandwagon saying yeah Muslims are an issue and stuff like "oh we've known this for so long... you guys just found out?".
Dude you need to understand, one can't necessarily be too surprised that the Sikhs may have animosity. To a certain extent, the religion is a bit of an anti-islamic cult, and sikhs have had MANY run ins with not just Muslims but Pakhtuns. Usually very unpleasant for them. Their one character who is important, Gobind Singh, was killed by Pakhtuns. Their 2 big holocausts done during Abdali's venture into that part of the world. Yes, there are smart sikhs, yes many of them have gotten over the past, and yes they can and many times are friends with muslims, pakhtuns, pakistanis, afghans, whatever... but appreciate that there are ones who are somewhat extremist and have a grudge still.
Islamophibia is a reaction, I hate racists who target people, especially vulnerable people. but it is a reaction to muslim behavior like this in Europe
^ it's one thing protesting about western wars and injustice, but the above shows the mentality of Wahhabi/Salafi muslims who have destroyed all sanity of muslims/Islam.

And not to forget the crime rate among muslims in Europe is super high.
