The last time I remember God communicated with people was in the form of Noah's flood according to Holy books. The rest of the real floods are due to changes in weather and are pretty normal. Each year we hear about different countries being affected by floods, blizzards, earthquakes etc. In our situation, both long- and short-term effects of natural calamities of this sort are further intensified since we do not have disaster management infrastructure.Rather than thinking that God is finally communicating with Pashtun people by sending floods to turn to Him, I will try to do something more practical by helping people.

      -200+people missing

Hmmm why you think then, we should ask Allah to help us if He has created all this trouble for just punishing the Taliban-traumatized, ISI-brutalized, poverty-stricken Pashtuns??? Please bear in mind that help should be real help: like rescuing people, sending relief goods/food/medicines (like the EU and USA is doing), and making donations, and building infrastructure.
      Peace.

-The initial creation of those bridges; the materials being there, money to buy them, the labourers, their ability, and their work.
-The main roads being there in the first place; the resources given to make them, people there to build them, people having cars to drive on them, the money for those cars, etc.

I'm not expecting those who aren't Muslim to necessarily understand this, however...

'Iinna lillahi wa inna elahi raji'un'' - ''To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return.''

It's pointless asking why this happened, coz we'll never know the answer. Allah is The most just, and He alone holds the answers. There's good behind everything, even if we can't see it.

"And surely We shall try you with something of fear and hunger, and loss of wealth and lives and crops; but give glad tidings to the steadfast." [Al-Baqara,155]

Also, who was tested more than the Prophets (Peace be upon them all, and the Sahaba's (RA), themselves? Noone went through more calamities than them.

            Lets look for solutions.

p.s. Islamic Republic of Pakistan?! What a joke..

Pakistan army as usual lying through its teeth. All reports suggests they are incompetent and hoping for international donors to step in so they can line their own pockets just like they did with the earthquake disaster.

Bridges come to the world as an innovative idea by an architect. That idea is further refined through making a design. Then the enginners calculate total number/amount/type of resources, including steel/iron, cement, bricks, mud. sand, etc. Next the amount of labor/manpower that goes into constructing a single bridge is calculated. After calculating the entire cost of resources and labor, the work on a new bridge starts and it takes years to finish a single bridge.
Interesting! I did not know that God does all the above-mentioned things for men, and then takes them away as well. In that case, my reasoning demands a question from you that why God has been really discriminatory to us that all the fantastic bridges are in Western world, Japan or Russia and we are still having those primitive suspension bridges (oh!!they are no more there, the USA has decided to give us some temporary steel bridges)? Please bear in mind that our people are the most religious people. God loves religious people.Hence, destorying the God-designed, -engineered, -executed, -constructed, -maintained, and -destroyed bridges by the same God is something that sounds quite unreasonable and impractical to commonsense. What you think, Guley?

"I think, therefore I am," was coined by Descartes to prove the existence of God.
Islam will prevail, a promise made by the Creator of this universe:

[61:8] They desire to extinguish the light of Allah with the breath of their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, even if the disbelievers hate it.

[61:9] He it is Who has sent His Messenger with the guidance and the Religion of truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all religions, even if those who associate partners with God hate it.

Although he was not the first person to come with the concept of Cogito, Ergosum as Plato and Aristotle had already perceived a similar idea but had not coined in these terms, yet Rene Descrates deserve full credit for coming up with the philosophical term. I can discuss why and how he used this term to understand his thinking and existence, but this thread is dedicated to a much important issue that has affected Pashtuns in the most horrible manner after ISI and Talibans and it is pretty odd to consider discussing a trivial matter like this. Until then, you have to live with the understanding that "I think, therefore I am", has nothing to do with the Descrates or myself proving/disproving the existence of God.
FYI: I have been given an exclusive right by Plato, Aristotle,Rene Descrates, and Darwin to use it since I am their most beloved and dearest child.
                    Peace.

I just brought IT up to expose the contradiction in your persona, because you are mocking Muslims in this thread.

You take every opportunity to mock Islam and Allah.
You have such low class that you can't engage in a proper discussion, where Muslims and Allah is the discussion.
You are such a sorry soul that you use your 25 cent education to claim superiority.

You have nothing. You think you are everything, but you are not.

If you have the guts to say stupid things about Muslims, then come and step to the plate by discussing in a humane manner. Can you? I think not.

You can use it all you want. By the way, Plato believed in God, so did Aristotle.

Haha. That architect was given life by God, given a working mind and a functioning body by God, the same architect was gifted with a education by God and then become successful because of God.

I won't go on, I'm sure you get my drift.

Interesting! I did not know that God does all the above-mentioned things for men, and then takes them away as well. Exactly, God does love the pious, which is why he tests them more. Back in school, the more intelligent the person, the harder the exam they had to do, you can use this to explain it in life.. the pious are tested more, with a harder life, and so the greater the reward.

Obviously, for non-believers it's a difficult concept to grasp. As some of my closest friends can't get their head around this. It's where faith comes in.

Come one, you can't say any one race are the most loved by God or are the most religous. And like no other race has suffered? Palestinians, Iraq's, Africans, Bosnians, etc. Or because they're non-Pashtuns means it's irrelevant?

My most respectable, dearest, beloved, and highly revered brother/sister MWMN,
This forum is a sacred place for me where I learn and educate myself and hence the vulgar language that you used here derserve my condemnation in all forms. I feel sorry and at the same time quite satisfied, that I became the reason for your desperation, for your frustration, for your exhaustion, for your inability to deal with me, for your despondence, for your narrow-mindedness, and for giving us a glimpse of the intrinsic bigot that harbors your body. I am not here to please Talibs/mullah/religious fanatics/religious zealots like you with my Quater-cent knowledge and profound decency. I won't resolve to cheap, vulgar, and obscene language like the one you used since insulting someone is something my Pashtun culture does not allow especially when it comes to Pashtana like me. Hereby, I declare you a non-Pashtun, an uncivilized and uncultured person and put you with .

You said pretty (and) filthy stuff about me.I wished I was that much educated about "how to look down upon people and say filthy stuff" so that I could have declared you a pond debris....or the pus that infects the mucus that cruds up the fungus that feeds on the pond debris..but I won't...since non-violence, tolerance, and reasoning are my weapons to combat my opponents.I would, rather keep irritating you with my reasoning and knowledge. Quater cents it might be, but compared to your billion dollars knowledge, it was powerful enough to bring out the real MOMIN in you. That also proves how much I think and exhaust my brain.

Nice to meet you finally, beloved brother/sister.

P.S. Plato,Aristotle, and Descrates belief in God has nothing to do with me. I am their child and the love me. Live with it, beloved sister.

I have no care what you think of me. However, your low class tactics is very unfortunate. No one has insulted your god-less thinking. But you have taken the liberty to insult Muslims at every junction. AT EVERY JUNCTION.

You are such a conniving person that you use the tactic of good speech to taunt. It is unfortunate that you are just one sorry person who has nothing in heart except hatred, abhorrence, detestation, hate, disgust.

Your true colours have been evident since long ago. Now let us reveal them to you.

Don't be happy of your education or youth. It will go away. Mark my words.

End of the day you will be forced (not physically but by "culture") to marry a Muslim, so watch what you say. When your nikaah is being recited, repeat these words to yourself: "I am a hypocrite. I am only marrying a Muslim because I can degrade my parents in public."

Things you have no knowledge of, yet take the unfortunate liberty to ALWAYS mock us. Have you ever heard of discussing in a humane manner? Oh, let me guess? Start by this:

Don't mock our religion, because we don't mock your beliefs.
