When did I say I am against it? Lmao, as I said this was a non-issue according to me. The real issue of Pakhtuns are different. Shakespear said, By whichever name you call a flower, it's fragrance and beauty isn't going to be affected.

Smarty: and to begin with Ghani Khan married the daughter of Nawab of Hyderabad, her name was Roshan Ghani. Now who does he marry or not is his personal life and choice. As long as the idea of Pakistan is concerned, they were against it just like Jamat-e-Islami was but once it was created they were never against it. Being against the government and against the country are two different things.

And I don't support Sherpao overall but he must be given the credit of different things he has good qualities as well. While he was the interior minister he gave jobs to the people of Charsaddah in Rangers etc etc. He is brave enough that while during that bomb blast in his rally the people were forcing him to leave and he wanted to stay on ground.

So people are not just bad and good. Sometimes they have both bad and good qualities. ANP cleared Sawat from terrorists very wisely, they improved the infrastructure of the province and worked alot in the Education Sector. They have bad points as well.

So calling them a beghairat and this and that. What have you and I done except for crying and speaking on public forums? ANP atleast did something and so did Sherpao.

O.K but keep it separate from Bread, cloth and House. For some people mother tongue is also non-issue and for others ethnic identity is non-issue, for some even islam is non-issue. I agree that naming Peshawer airport after bacha khan was non-issue, but renaming province was not. It was an important symbolic step in our history, colonial name was no more.

There was little to discuss further from my side on most of the points . But let me add about your diversity argument. Diversity and co-existence , nothing wrong with that if you are in majority. Afghanistan is also a diverse country, so is Pakistan but both are in imbalance......This imbalance was created by british's durand line.

@Smarty: and to begin with Ghani Khan married the daughter of Nawab of Hyderabad, her name was Roshan Ghani. Now who does he marry or not is his personal life and choice.
Parsis have muslim like names as they have origin from persia. Roshan was a parsi from nawab family. Bacha khan, his brother and rest of the family are/were no different from the jagirdars/nawabs/wadairas of hindostan. just look at them, politics run in their family and they are marrying with elite familes, in case of Dr. khan Sahib's daughter and ghani khan , not even with muslims. What happened when these friends of hindu dhalkhors faced real pashtuns?, read below

A fascinating account of the details of Nehru's visit is available from a letter which the political agent of South waziristan wrote to his wife:

"Abdul Ghaffar Khan opened the proceedings by telling the waziris that the great Nehru had heard of how they had been oppressed by the firangis and had decided to come and investigate their condition. They were poor and the new indian governamnet was determined to give them schools, to teach them their religion , to build hospitals and to civilize them. The wazir spokesman replied more in grief than in anger that abdul ghaffar had got it all wrong. The utmanzai wazirs were oppressed by no one, nor did they need instruction in teaching of islam from a man whose son had married a parsi and whose niece (Dr.Khan sahib's daughter Marium) was married to a christian. This remark infuriated Dr.khan sahib who called them paid toadles of the political agent. This remark was too much for the jirga who leapt to their feet in protest. Smouldering with indignation the party then departed [to meet Mehsuds]. A Mehsud Jirga was assembled in the residency garden. Nehru spoke in Urdu. The Mahsuds probably didnt understand much. But when he said that those present were all debauched by British robbery, it was too much for old kaka. Mir Badshah's father , who in the coarse way that mahsuds have, said 'Hindu, if the british pay us money. there's a good reason. Our private parts are of extraordinary size as you will find out to your cost before long. 'With that the old boy stumped out. The political agent tried to persuade nehru to end his tour after this but Bacha khan begged him to continue. Things only got worse however as their car was pelted with stones, injuring the two leaders with flying glass. (Hunt and Harrison 1980:231)

Pakhtuns of the areas, where his influence existed, voted for him and Khudai khidmatgars won majority of the seats in 1946 election, he didnt get rejected in his strongholds (1947 refrendum was a trick and is not true scale). They never grew beyond peshawer valley, same is situation today. they were idiots and got tricked/used by chalak Hindu. So is the case of millions of Pakhtuns living in Pakistan, like Abdul Wali Khan and Mehmood Khan Achakzai we are patriotic Pakistanis working for the interest of Pakhtuns specifically and Pakistan generally.
