Saudi Arabia's Kingdom Tower Will Stand One Kilometer High

Saudi Arabia might be trying to outdo every other country with its massive Kingdom Tower.
The new tallest building in the world will stand one kilometer high and is expected to cost a whopping $1.23 billion. According to the Saudi Gazette, the tower will require 5.7 million square feet of concrete, 80,000 tons of steel, and it will stunt Dubai's Burj Khalifa by nearly 600 feet.
The building, if it can even be called a building, will stand in the city of Jeddah along the coast of the Red Sea. To top it all off, a 98-foot terrace can be expected on the 157th floor.
Construction is set to begin as early as next week.

^ not again, why are the gulf arabs competing with each other to build world tallest buildings? just to show how rich they are to the world? why can't they do any thing productive?

This is also being built not far from Makkah, in Jeddah and as the comment in the article mentioned, probably by slave labors

i don't know why these buildings are even a source of pride for these people considering they are designed and engineered by westerners and built by asians.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

Don't worry, once pashtuns get as rich as these gulf arabs, they are going to build useless tall buildings using tajik and hazara slaves and we will be proud of it lol.

I guess its a good thing that Pashtuns will never be rich then.

Why do you think that? trillion dollars worth of mines and lithium have been found in eastern and southern afghanistan.

The highest estimates are 3 trillion, but its hard as hell to actually mine and sell. In contrast, these Saudis have probably hundreds of trillions worth of easily extracted oil in their ground with a fraction of the population.

Its not like you can just dig all this crap up and sell it for 3 tril, especially when there is no infrastructure in place and none of the ish is nationalized.

A Yemeni class mate of mine once said that Allah is testing the Gulf Arabs with all this wealth, so far most of them are failing this test

I think in general huge amounts of wealth is a Test from God, it's not a blessing. It's basically about how much you can control your greed from within and desires, most humans fail in this test

Among the signs of the Hour mentioned by the Noble Messenger of Allah - Allah bless and greet him and his Family and Companions - in Sahih al-Bukhari is "when the destitute (al-buhm) camelherds compete in building tall structures."
