Rakka, Syria: A young girl was stoned to death by sunni-militant groups in Syria for operating Facebook account.

Fatoum Al-Jassem was taken to a Sharia court after she was caught using the social networking website, in Rakka, Syria. The Sharia court declared that using a Facebook account amounts to adultery and the girl should be punished by stoning, according to a news report published in Iran's FARS news agency which quoted a report published in Arabic-language Al-Rai Al-Youm.

The members of the Al-Qaeda group in Iraq, also known as Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) were behind the incident.

The ISIS, or Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, is an hardline Islamic group based in Iraq. They have been fighting an active war against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Syria and the government forces in Iraq.

The group's ideology is based on extremely strict interpretation of Islam.

Ironically, the Al-Nusra Front operates a Facebook account of its own.

This story is so disgusting and appalling that I find it hard to believe. It might be fabricated or might be distorted.

However if it is true then this is simply shocking.

India Today Online New Delhi, February 14, 2014 | UPDATED 14:59 IST

While you were busy liking someone's post or uploading that cute photograph of your puppy, a young Syrian girl was reportedly being stoned to death in Syria.
Her crime? She had opened a Facebook account.
The incident took place in the Syrian city of Rakka. The girl, Fatoum Al-Jassem, was sentenced to death by stoning by Al-Reqqa religious court after ISIL militants took her to the court.
The court ruled that having a Facebook account was tantamount to adultery and thus sentenced her to death.
The court also described the opening of her Facebook account as an act of great wickedness that merited severe punishment.

Syrian Girl stoned to death for Facebook membership

            Star Online Report
The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) stoned to death a young Syrian girl for membership in Facebook social network.
The ISIL militants took the Syrian girl, Fatoum Al-Jassem, to Al-Reqqa religious court and the judge ruled that membership in Facebook is tantamount to adultery and sentenced her to death by stoning, the Iranian news agency FNA reported on February 12 quoting the Arabic news and opinion website Al-Rai Al-Youm.
ISIL, an Iraq-based militant group, is now fighting against Syrian government.
Syria has been experiencing unrest since March 2011 with organised attacks by well-armed terrorists and militants against the Syrian army and civilians across the country.
Thousands of people have been killed since terrorist and armed groups turned protest rallies into armed clashes.
The government blames outlaws, saboteurs, and armed terrorist groups for the deaths, stressing that the unrest is being orchestrated from abroad.

This has got to be fraudulent, stoned her for adultery? was this girl married? and which Ulama have equated joining facebook to adultery?

posting 3 different news sites repeating the same article is not verifying the story, it;'s just 3 different sites repeating the same story.

I'm against the ISIL but this seems too absurd to be legit.

Reporting the stuff ISIS and other factions are doing is enough to discredit them at times. But Pro-Assad camp keeps inventing lies to make them look like something they are not.

Besides, noticr how the Russian woman never posts any of the atrocities of Assad. As if he is innocent.

Stoning should be banned throughout the world.

and if anywhere it happens,UN should take notice and if possible dispatch some of its nato air wings to the site and than bomb the hell out of the region

Well I'm not going to go conspiracy theory on Hallo, obviously she's biased. But when something sounds too "good" to be true, it probably is.

Yes and for this let us say it loudly and boldly that you have to ban Sharia because stoning is Sharia. On the name of Sharia we are committing such atrocities. The day Sharia is not banned you cannot stop such practices because simply stoning to death is based on Sharia or Islamism.

Well, stoning is a part of Sharia. Do you think that Sharia law is inappropriate?

Are you opposed to capital punishment (electric chair, lethal injection, etc), or are you just opposed to the method of stoning?

I am aware that in many parts of the Muslim world, Sharia is applied in a sexist manner where the female is subjected to it more so than the male. However, sharia law as an ideal is just like any other set of laws that exist in Asia or the West.

Sharia law is correct, in certain cases, but the fact of the story is that people nowadays are using Sharia law to fit thier own political needs and agendas. All the stoning cases you hear, and all the cases of women and girls being punished isn't fair. Because they don't haev witnesses and because men are not going to testify against thier own gender, unless it's a brother or father, there is no way that a woman will get fair trial. therefore Sharia isn't always right, and thats only because people don't use it for the correct reasons.

And this story is a perfect example, regardless of its credibility. A girl shouldn't be stoned to death because she opened a facebook account. This makes no sense whatsoever. If it isn't true, well then it's most likely a conspiracy against people trying to make the muslim countries, and Islam look bad. If it is true, then the government is using Sharia law to get thier own agendas done.
