  • Kazakhstan want's to change it's name:They're ashamed of the 'stan'.

The leader of Kazakhstan said Thursday that his country should lose the last four letters of its name.

President Nursultan Nazarbayev cited country’s oil wealth as a reason why it should be seen as distinctive from the rest of the Central Asian”‘stans,” Reuters reports. Those include Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, countries that are largely poverty-stricken.

Kazakhstan has seen a large level of investment from foreign corporations since it emerged from the ruins of the Soviet Union more than two decades ago, but Kazakh officials say the country still gets little attention from the rest of the world. Nazarbayev said that the country of 17 million could be renamed ‘Kazakh Ali,’ meaning “the Land of the Kazakhs,” as a way to seem more appealing to potential foreign visitors.

“Foreigners show interest in Mongolia, whose population is just two million people, but whose name lacks the ‘stan’ ending,” the president’s press service quoted him as saying. Nazarbayev said the idea is something “we definitely need to discuss with the people.”
I guess all the other Stans will change their name, cause "stan" is now unfortunately synonymous with 'poverty & terrorism'.

If he could stop being a dictator who obsesivly controls the country and opresses his people and stops spending money on useless falshy buildings that are empty, investors might come.

Well, the 'Stans' don't have quite a good track record, now do they? Pakistan is the number 1 exporter of terrorism and backwardness, Afghanistan is one of the most backward and illiterate nations in the world; just to cite two examples.
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

lmao, Idk how Pakistan exports 'backward people'(except to the UK), otherwise Pakistani-Americans are like one of the best assimilated immigrant groups in America with high median incomes, and rates of academic attainment.

I was reading an article about a Pakistani guy that traveled to Uzbekistan, and he was surprised that they actually lack a lot of basic infrastructure that you can find in Karachi and Islamabad.

As for Pakistan being the "#1 exporter of terrorism", just look at any attacks in the west since the 1980s, a Pakistani was behind none of them except the Time square one.

          History:
          Berlin disco bombing:Libyans
          Air India bombing:Sikhs
          Lockerbie bombing:Libyans:
          First WTC attack:Arabs
          OKC bombing:White American christian
          Atlanta games 96:Catholic terrorist
          Kenyan bombing:local people
          9/11:All 19 were Arab
          Bali:Indonesians
          Madrid:Arabs
          7/7:I think 1 or 2 British-Pakis were involved
          Beslan:Chechens
          Samjotha Express:Indians
          Boston bombings:Chechens
          Toulouse Massacre:Algerian
          Norway Massacre:white guy
          Woolwich:Black Muslim converts
          Westgate mall attack:Somalis

So it is not true that Pakistan is the number #1 exporter of terrorism, although it may be heavily involved in Afghanistan and to a lesser degree in India, but that's about it, and those countries pose existential threats to Pakistan, so Pakistan has every right to preserve it's territorial integrity.

The biggest exporter of terrorism is hands down,America.

We aren't talking about Pakistanis or Afghans in foreign countries. Both have integrated well abroad. I mentioned Pakistan the nation, is known for using terrorism as a form of an export. Don't act delusional.

Really? The only countries that have been affected by Pakistan's export is Afghanistan and to a lesser degree India.

Pakistan doesn't export terrorism on a global scale unlike Qaddafi-era Libya or Saudi Arabia.

Pakistan's top exports are cotton, textiles and rice.

Claiming Pakistan is the #1 exporter of terrorism is as dumb as saying Afghanistan is the #1 exporter of opium, these aren't factual, it's just your opinion.

Kazakhastan has very little to do with the countries south of it's border, they are very close to Russia and even Mongolia culturally, so it makes sense

Ranking of all the 'Stan countries in terms of per capita income:
                        1.Kazakhstan $11,700
2.Turkmenistan $6000(they're known as the Qatar of Central Asia).
                        3.Uzbekistan $3500
                        4.Pakistan $3300
                        5.Kyrgyzstan $1500
                        6.Afghanistan $1000
                        7.Tajikistan $950
East Turkestan(Xinjiang) has a per capita income of around $4500
I don't understand why Tajikistan is poorer than Afghanistan.

Kurdistan is not independent but the per capita of Iraqi Kurdistan is also $4500.

For most of them you used PPP per capita income while for Uzbekistan Nominal

                          Hence update it now.

                          Uzbekistan 3536$

it`s not harming anyone in anyway, why should it concern us?? it's their country. they should be able to decide for themselves what they want to call it. and yes, the stans have become something to be ashamed of.

kim jong's wife's insecurities lead him to have his ex girlfriend shot by a killing squad. the man is a modern day hitler. i don't see anyone being troubled by that.
