Karachi lacks law and order situation,Otherwise it is a best to be in

Karachi GDP is higher than atleast 100 countries and stand at 78billion dollars as of 2008.Must be atleast 120-130billion dollars by now

No Official figure are available but as per different sources the GDP of karachi represent 22-24% of Total Pakistan

Which means roughly the GDP of karachi Today is 130-135billion dollars when the Total GDP of Pakistan is 559billion dollars(2013)

There are many sides too Karachi, you will find places which are completely safe and developed, yet the other places are like hell on earth. It really depends where you live in the 20 million city

what does it matter if the GDP is so big??? with so much crime and violence and knwing that the majority of the people are living in bad conditions...
I tought that Afghan goverment is corrupt, but seeing Karachi and having so much money but still be in such a bad condition is quite sad.

Altaf would have been shot long ago, had he been not protected by the British and some other outside powers. His and his party days are numbered though, hopefully in 10-15 years Karachi will become peaceful like it was pre 1990. Back then there were no major problems in the city between different groups and there was lots of progress.

Also the other problem is, because of the law and order situation, all the other non political criminals from all over pakistan have come to Karachi too now, because it is the safest place for them to do crimes. I think Karachi needs a major military operation and all the political parties should be banned from the city, because they do no good for the peace

True, the doc was mainly focusing on the most dangerous area

Clifton/Defense areas are probably the safest, also Gulshan/Nazimabad where most of family is at are normally safe, only some violent incidents here and there

This map shows the most dangrous areas

^ actually I was a bit wrong, Gulshan in the center is not as safe as it use to be, but usually all the light pink/white areas are mostly safe

the southern parts of the city Clifton/Defence are pretty well developed and rich, surprising though, they are pretty close to Lyari
