It is being said that Erdogan may have "attacked" i.e. punched someone when he visited Soma.

The following video shows the Turkish strongman seeking refuge in a supermarket trying to avoid the angry crowd of people in the town. His bodyguards savagely beat up a man in a blue T-shirt whilst a young woman screams.

The following video if you watch 0.36-0.39 seconds and pause at each second i.e.

      second 0.36
      second 0.37
      second 0.38
      second 0.39

You can clearly see Erdogan assaulting the man i.e. putting his hands on him and trying to push or punch him.

Başbakan'ın yumruklu saldırısından yeni görüntüler! - YouTube

Is this man supposed to be the head of government of the Republic of Turkey?

Is this man supposed to be the so-called new Caliph/head of the Muslim world as the Americans and their proxy media are trying to promote him?

The Turkish government and its officials (that is all Erdogan is, an elected official who is a servant of the Turkish people not their master) are there to protect Turks not cause their deaths (mining death) and then go and beat them up.
Toramana and others, this man has been the pin-up boy for Ikhwanis for the past few years.

I sincerely hope he leaves power soon. I don't mind the AKP without Erdogan as the secular fascist Kemalists are far worse in many ways but Erdogan and Davutoglu have to go.

Personally as a Bangladeshi I cannot accept a regime which attacks the embassy of another sovereign state, especially a Muslim state and not just any Muslim state but one whose people supported Turks during their war of independence. Bengali Muslims even fought in the Turkish war of independence.

Erdoğan allegedly punches man in Soma, aide kicks mourner

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan allegedly punched a young man several times in Soma on Wednesday, after a large crowd angrily protested the recent mining disaster in which an explosion and fire killed at least 283 mineworkers.

Many people in the crowd protested Erdoğan's presence, shouting that he is a “murderer” and a “thief,” reportedly forcing the prime minister to take shelter in a grocery store. However, some reports claim that Erdoğan entered the store not to avoid the protests but rather to follow -- and subsequently punch -- a young man who had shouted at him outside the store.

Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) deputy Lütfü Türkkan has claimed that he has spoken to the man who Erdoğan punched, saying that the young man's name is Taner Kuruca.

Sharing the details of the conversation via micro blogging site Twitter, Türkkan wrote: “I spoke to Kuruca. The man said that he was shopping at the store when Erdoğan attacked him, thinking that he was a protester. He said that he was also beaten by Erdoğan's bodyguards.. Kuruca told me that only thing that he clearly remembers was that Erdoğan assaulted him."

Reports allege that the young man, wearing a blue t-shirt, chanted slogans critical of Erdoğan and then entered the store. Erdoğan then followed the protester inside, grabbed the man and then punched him two or three times, according to eyewitness reports.

The owner of the store corroborated the reports, saying that he saw surveillance camera footage showing that Erdoğan was punching a man, adding, "The bodyguards took away the footage and suggested that I not mention the issue."

A video of the incident shared on the popular video-sharing platform YouTube shows Erdoğan telling the protester, “Come next to me and boo me,” before walking up to the one man into the store then. At one point during the video Erdoğan grabs the protestor and punches him.

In the video footage, Deputy Prime Minister Bülent Arınç and Interior Minister Efkan Ala are seen entering the store after Erdoğan and attempting to calm him down. Erdoğan's anger and nervousness can be seen on his face as he leaves the store.

Tensions were high as hundreds of relatives and miners jostled outside the coal mine waiting for news, with a heavy police presence. Many women wept uncontrollably, men knelt sobbing while others just stared in disbelief as rescue workers removed a steady stream of bodies throughout the night and early morning.

After the incident Erdoğan's bodyguards are alleged to take footage from surveillance cameras which may have recorded the incident.

A number of people showed strong reactions to Erdoğan's visit. Rocks were thrown at the police, who clamped down strongly on the protesters. Police set up fences and stood guard around Soma state hospital during Erdoğan's visit.

Opposition parties in Parliament strongly criticized Erdoğan over the alleged incident.

Speaking to Today's Zaman, main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) Deputy Chairman Haluk Koç described Erdoğan's behavior as shameful; "Erdoğan's hate speech knows no limits and he has gone so far as to resort to violence against a citizen. The government's irresponsible acts have turned into cruelty against citizens. It was clear that Erdoğan's continued insulting discourse would result in violence. How can we think of Erdoğan as a human after this violent act? He now turned out to be a symbol of hatred."

Commenting on the violent act, Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Deputy Chairwoman Ruhsar Demirel said that people are mourning the victims of the tragic mine disaster and all of us feel deep sorrow. "Given the atmosphere, I hope the video footage turns out not to be authentic. There is no place for such a burst of anger. No matter what your position is, even a prime minister, all criticism should be listened to and considered in silence. Politicians should show respect to citizens' criticisms and reactions. I hope that the footage of the incident is not real,” Demirel said...

          Bangladeshi Foreign ministry press release:

We are monitoring events in Turkey and the Soma tragedy. We would like to express our condolences to the people of Soma and share their deep sorrow and sadness. We would also like to remind Recep Tayyip Erdogan that physical attacks on Turkish citizens are illegal actions and not befitting for any senior government official let alone the actual head of government.

We urge the people of Turkey not to abandon the political fight because withdrawal means leaving the square [battle] to other powers and one needs not to tire of the struggle for democracy

Foreign Ministry of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.

          *Satire*

The Bangladeshi government never made such a comment nor would it do so as it sees such acts as a violation of diplomatic protocol and interfering in the domestic affairs of a sovereign state. However the US-backed Erdogan has no such respect for national sovereignty and ...

He also called on the Bangladeshi people not to “abandon the political fight.”
“Because withdrawal means leaving the square [battle] to other powers and one needs not to tire of the struggle for democracy,” Erdoğan added.

His comments on the execution of a Bangladeshi citizen for murdering Bangladeshi civilians on Bangladeshi soil in a case conducted by Bangladeshi courts i.e. Quader Molla (Nothing to do with Turkey)

Erdogan is an idiot, a loud mouthed violent idiot, who needs to go.

            Bengal Tiger

What I want to say to you is that:
I'm against to Erdoğan too, but our reason (I mean yours and mine) are highly DIFFERENT.

And also you may not know my country's situation or politics or event better than me! Because I'm interested in those too as I'm interested in Asia too.

But when I read your post, I see that your news are from JUST opponent media, newspaper, not from every..

You said Turkey has followed a pro-Pakistan politicy opposite to Bangladesh..
So I want to ask you, where are you? I mean Where do you stand in the world politics? For example Has you recognized "Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus" officially? I just wonder, but Pakistan and Afghaistan recognized it, even first countries to recognize it.

Also in Bangladesh, WHICH COUNTRY did raise a hue and cry/protest agains the Muslims leader who was executed nowadays?
But Turkish people go out from their home and protest againstthat execution!

I think everything in life is "mutual", so is politicy
One more, you should stop your propaganda against Turkey or R. T. Erdoğan although I don't approve his politics.
I don't want to see a propaganda from a foreign person. He/She should spend time on his/her nations, politics, leaders (which leader is perfect? Yours are perfect?)

              Turkish troll.

              1. Your regime should stop its propaganda, insults and interference against the sovereign nation of Bangladesh.

              2. It seems you are another uneducated and ignorant troll brainwashed by "Islamist" propaganda.

Qader Molla was not executed because he was a "Muslim" leader. There are 150 million + Muslims. Qader Molla was a member of a political party, a political activist. He was not an Imam or a religious scholar.

You talk about "Muslim leaders" (i.e. political leaders of a pro-Pakistan party) but what about the Muslim men, women and children killed and raped by Pakistani soldiers and Qader Molla's party?

You say nothing about them because you like many other ignorant Turks are just brainwashed by your media and repeat the nonsense that the AKP media say and know nothing about Bangladesh.

So educate yourself before you speak rubbish about my country troll.

              3. Bengalis sent soldiers to fight during the Turkish war of independence due to loyalty to the Ottoman Caliphate.

              Ask asad71 for more information.

Also Bangladesh was about to recognize northern Cyprus but was threatened by America.

You lied and claimed Northern Cyprus is recognized by Pakistan. It is not recognized by any country in the world besides Turkey.

Recognised only by Turkey, Northern Cyprus is considered by the international community as Turkish-occupied territory of the Republic of Cyprus.

The major diplomatic debacle was the announcement of recognition on 16 November 1983 by Ershad government of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus which declared independence unilaterally on 15 November, 1983. So far Turkey remains the only country in the worldwhich publicly recognized Republic of Northern Cyprus. Following requests from UN, Non-Aligned Movement, US, Britain, CommonwealthSecretariat, and the decision by Greece and Cyprus to break diplomaticrelations with Bangladesh, government of Bangladesh reversed its decision and a message was sent to state that no officialannouncement had been made about recognition of TRNC

              4. You also did not apologize for the attack on the Bangladeshi embassy which is shameful.

I am very familiar with you Turks and how brainwashed and arrogant you are. You can insult any other nationality or interfere in their business but no one has no right to comment on your country even when they interfere in other countries' affairs as your Erdogan regime is doing in Bangladesh.

You are brainwashed from a young age by the Kemalist education system to think you are a special and unique race and you think you are better than others.

I am going to place you on block as

              a: You are a liar

b: You have failed to apologize for a shameful action against the People's Republic of Bangladesh.

Personally I would be more than happy if the Turkish embassy was closed in Dhaka and the ambassador was expelled just as how Egypt expelled the Turkish ambassador.

              Stay out of my threads.

                To normal people:

I have put this Turkish troll on ignore but look at the hypocrisy and ignorance.

                1. He/She/It can talk about "Muslim leaders" (political leaders of a political party in Bangladesh) in Bangladesh but we can't talk about our embassy being attacked.

                2. His/Her/Its prime minister and justice minister can make lots of comments about internal Bangladeshi affairs but we can't object to our embassy being attacked.

                3. The troll says I should not use Turkish "opposition" media, but he can support a controversial opposition party in Bangladesh, Jamaat e Islami, guilty of war crimes!

This is the general arrogant attitude that Turks have that they can criticize anyone they want to but no one can say anything about them.

For decades Turks oppressed the Kurds and even forbade them from speaking their language, destroyed 3,000 Kurdish villages, tortured and murdered Kurdish civilians and their fascist education system teaches them they are better than everyone else. They especially hate Arabs or "Araplar" who they are taught to hate from a young age.

They are taught to hate Arabs as "traitors" because nearly 100 a years ago a few Bedouin fought for the British (ignoring the fact that 1/3 of all dead soldiers in Gallipoli were Arab and that Albanians had - as an entire nation - turned against the Turks/Ottomans decades earlier).

In some private companies in Turkey people are forbidden from fasting in Ramadan as the "white Turks" hate Islam and Muslims and consider any sign of religion as "yobazlik" (backwardness).

I am sick and tired of these aggressive fascists and sick and tired of the American agenda of making Erdogan's Turkey the de facto "leader" of the Muslim world, godfather of the Muslim world who bosses everyone around.

                To be honest:

                - Bangladesh should close the Turkish embassy and expel the ambassador.
                - Bangladesh should forbid any military deals with Turkish companies.
                - Bangladesh should ban Turkey from getting any of the potential $100 billion construction and engineering deals we may have in the next decade or two.

Erdogan and Davutoglu better be careful because if they are not there will be consequences as we have already seen with Erdogan fighting for his life with the sacking/reallocating of thousands of judges and policemen.

Believe me if the Bangladeshi government execute another war criminal and Erdogan tries to attack our embassy again it will be one of the last things that this criminal will do.

Criminal Erdogan needing police and other troops to protect him from the wrath of Turks.

                Filipino demonstrator against thug Erdogan.

                Erdogan's police in action.

Erdogan accuses the BBC of a conspiracy.

Erdogan Accuses BBC Turkey of Hiring Actors to Pose as Soma Miners' Wives

                  May 20, 2014 17:41 BST

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has accused a BBC Turkey reporter of hiring two actors to pose as relatives of dead Soma miners.

A 59-second clip, shot by BBC Turkish journalist Rengin Arslan, showed two veiled women at the cemetery in Soma, claiming that they previously voted for Erdogan's ruling AK Party but after the Soma mine disaster, which killed 301 people, they changed their minds.

One woman said that in Soma people voted AK "out of fear" and received bribes to do so.

At a party meeting following the BBC broadcast, Erdogan accused the women of faking their connection with the miners, and lying to the international press.

In a statement, BBC Turkey described the criticism as an "unfounded allegation" and stood by its video.

"BBC Turkey did not interview the women, we just filmed the two women while they were talking" the statement said. "We also have confirmation that they are miners' wives. For all these reasons, we stand behind the news reported."

BBC Turkey added that it did not report the women's names because they wanted to stay anonymous, and denounced the attacks on Arslan on social media.

Turkish mine explosion: Erdogan aide who kicked protester signs off sick

Aide to Turkey's prime minister has been given sick leave after injuring the leg he used to violently kick an anti-government protester.

A Turkish prime ministerial aide who rose to international attention after being photographed kicking a prone demonstrator has been given sick leave after suffering injuries to the same leg he used to carry out the attack.
Images of Yusef Yerkel assaulting the protester on the streets of Soma on May 14 a day after a mining disaster that killed 301 people quickly went viral after they were posted on the internet.
They also became emblematic of a perceived insensitivity to the tragedy on the part of Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkey's prime minister and Mr Yerkel's boss, who was visiting Soma when the incident occurred.
The English-language Hurriyet Daily News reported that Mr Yerkel - a former PhD student at the University of London's School of Oriental and African Studies - attended Ankara's Ataturk Training and Research Hospital on the evening of the incident complaining of a pain in his right knee....

Turkish leader 'punches man’ on visit to mining disaster town 16 May 2014
Turkey PM Erdogan filmed 'slapping protester' 16 May 2014

He was signed off on sick leave for a week.

Witnesses said Mr Yerkel, wearing a suit-and-tie, ran to attack the protester, who was being held down by two members of the security forces after having kicked a car belonging to the prime minister's motorcade. The aide kicked the man three or four times, Turkish media reported...

The politically damaging images have been compounded by reports that Mr Erodgan also responded violently to boos and cat-calls from protesters following the mining accident.

The prime minister was captured on television footage telling a protester that "if you boo the prime minister you get slapped". Video footage also appeared to show him punching a man in a supermarket, an event independently confirmed to the Telegraph by eyewitnesses.
The man, Taner Kucuran, originally told a Turkish TV channel that Mr Erdogan may have hit him "involuntarily" and said he would not press charges - although he did ask for an apology.
However, he later gave a different account to another station, Manisa Medya, apologising for his earlier version and saying that Mr Erdogan had merely tried to prevent his bodyguards from attacking him.
"A provocation against Erdogan was organised," Mr Kucuran told the station. "The prime minister did not punch me. He only aimed to prevent his bodyguards from beating me. I later realised that the person who punched me was not the prime minister but one of his bodyguards.
"I didn't hear an insult from him either. I think I was tricked on the issue. I apologise to the prime minister for what I said about the incident before."
A woman shopper in the supermarket told the Telegraph that she saw Mr Erdogan deliberately strike Mr Kurucan, whom she said had simply been shopping at the time.Today Zaman newspaper, which reported Mr Kucuran's latest comments, said it had discovered links between the channel and Mr Erdogan's ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP).

Erdogan is a thug and so are his ministers.

The minister who kicked the Turk on the ground is an embarassment so is pretending to be "sick" and may fade away from politics all together.

Turkish man shot dead in Istanbul.

A man died after being shot and critically injured while attending a funeral in Istanbul.

Ugur Kurt, a 34-year-old cleaner and father of one, lived in the Okmeydani neighbourhood where a small group of protesters had gathered on Thursday to demonstrate about last week's mine disaster in Soma and the death of a teenage boy killed in March last year by a teargas canister fired by police.

He was taking part in the funeral procession when he was hit in the cheek and jaw by a stray bullet. Earlier, Istanbul police headquarters released a statement claiming that the origin of the bullet remained unclear but promising a thorough investigation.

According to Turkish media reports, riot police clashed with about 15 students who had gathered in front of a local school bearing posters commemorating the 301 miners who died and holding images of Berkin Elvan, the 15-year-old boy shot in the head during anti-government protests last summer. There have been weekly protests in Elvan's memory since his death in March.

Turkish Consulate destroyed documents as ISIL militants approached

Turkey 'on alert' as NATO convenes on ISIL invasion in northern Iraq

Turkish Mosul Consulate Öztürk Yılmaz had prepared a discharge plan on June 10 when they realized that the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) had approached 200 meters from consulate compound, but was unable to fully implement the plan due to security circumstances in nearby area. However, the consulate was able to defuse an encrypted computer and destroy confidential diplomatic documents, sources told the Hürriyet Daily News.

Turkish officials have learned that the Mosul Consulate staff abducted by ISIL militants on June 11 are in a good state of health and the Turkish authorities are in contact with them, Turkish sources told the Daily News.

"Turks are not kidnapped. They are only taken to a safe location and [sic] until the investigation procedures are completed," @Dawla_NewsMedia, a Twitter account believed to be linked to the ISIL, tweeted June 11.

The consulate staff informed Ankara in an “emergency call” as the militants were entering the compound, telling the Foreign Ministry that they had “entered the building and were taking the staff somewhere.” The conversation reportedly ended with the intervention of the militants.

Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu has cut his U.S. trip short due to events, and has held phone conversations with officials from the U.S. and the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) for the release of the consulate staff.

An emergency meeting on developments in Iraq was held at the prime ministry with the participation of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Deputy Prime Minister Beşir Atalay and National Intelligence Agency (MİT) chief Hakan Fidan. Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu has also cut his U.S. trip short due to events.

Turkish lira touches 11-month low ahead of Fed meeting

Reuters Middle EastReuters Middle East – 5 hours ago

ISTANBUL, Dec 12 (Reuters) - The Turkish lira eased to an 11-month low against the dollar on Friday, as the U.S. currency strengthened ahead of a meeting of the Federal Reserve next week and President Tayyip Erdogan renewed calls for interest rate cuts.
Addressing a business forum in Ankara, Erdogan said interest rates and inflation were too high. He has repeatedly called for lower rates but the central bank has been reluctant to cut in recent months for fear of stoking inflation.
The lira hit 2.3097 against the dollar, its lowest since Jan. 27, and was at 2.3043 by 1541, from 2.2730 early in the morning.
Istanbul's main share index closed down 1.76 percent at 83,226.38, lagging behind the broader emerging markets index, which was down 0.74 percent. Banks led the fall, slumping 3.32 percent.

The benchmark 10-year government bond yield rose to 8.67 percent from 8.52 on Thursday.
Strong U.S. retail sales and declining jobless claims on Thursday bolstered the case for a U.S. rate hike, which would tempt funds away from riskier emerging markets.

Turkey would be especially vulnerable because its large current account deficit is financed by foreign capital inflows. (Reporting by Dasha Afanasieva; Editing by Nick Tattersall and Editing by Kevin Liffey).
