  • Kaafir teacher of Khyber Medical College attacks Muslima

Teacher ?thrashes? girl after argument on veil - DAWN.COM

Misbah Syed, a first-year student of MBBS, told reporters here that she had been covering face with a veil since she got admission to the college.

She said female classmates recently elected her as representative and soon after election, Professor Rahim Bangash asked her not to veil herself in the classroom from the next morning.

The student alleged the teacher also criticised women covering face with a veil saying he would not even allow his wife and daughter veil themselves.

“He (teacher) also made derogatory remarks about the veil to my embarrassment in front of colleagues. I strongly reacted to the remarks and told him that it’s a student’s right whether or not to veil herself and that no one can force her into doing so. After that, he slapped and kicked me,” she said.

Ms Misbah also accused the teacher of harassing her.

She alleged that students veiling themselves and sporting beard were discriminated against by some teachers during oral examination.

The student, a Canadian national of Pakistani origin, said she had visited more than a dozen countries, including the US and the UK, but no one there had objected to her veiling herself.

“I got admission to Khyber Medical College only because my parents wanted me to be familiar with Pakhtun culture after spending years abroad,” she said.

Ms Misbah demanded strict action against Professor Rahim and others discouraging students to veil themselves on campus. “The action against the teacher, whose conduct is highly unbecoming, will help students get education in a harassment-free environment,” she said.

The student said she would continue struggle for justice.

On Friday, the KMC students blocked the busy University Road for around an hour to protest the roughing up of their colleagues.

After learning about the protest, provincial Information Minister Shah Farman turned up and pacified students by promising punitive action against the teacher in question.

    The protesters later dispersed peacefully.

What a filthy kaafir animal. The muslims of Peshawar should make sure this kaafir animal is removed from the college.

How do you know if the teacher was a kafir?

The teacher is a Bangash Pashtun and definitely a Muslim.

I am happy such vices against the barbaric veil are now raising publicly in Pashtun society. How a doctor can perform her duty with a covered face? I cannot imagine it.

How she will interact with a patient, how she will undertake a surgery, how she will talk to a child, how she will express her body language. I cannot digest it. For God sake liberate the Pashtun and Saudi women, the only women who cover their faces from this inhuman dressing.

dude i agree with most of your points, i'm no proponent of the veil, but the teacher assaulted her, he had NO right to do that, he should be locked up in prison.

The girl was just exercising her right of freedom of expression, even if she was forced by her family, she's free to wear a tent if she wants.

What proof we have that the teacher assaulted her? She can make things up to draw attention. Why she mentions then the veil issue why she does not straightforwardly talk of assault and harassment. I am not for assault and harassment but yes for the opposition to veil especially covering the face.

In many foreign countries I have seen that it is mandatory for doctors to shave daily and women to come with pleasant personality so that patients have positive impression of the doctor.

Covered face can be a jinn, ghost, devil or a criminal not of a normal human being.

See the views of the secularists and the so called champeions of freedom of expression. Give these secularists power and then see how barbaric they happen with you. They more and more extreme than taliban.

He allegedly slapped and kicked her in front of the entire class, so there were eye witnesses.

Secularism rules the whole developed world. Do you see there injustice or rule of law, do you see there barbarity or humanity, do you see there extremism or moderation, do you see there cruelty or human rights, do you see there democracy or dictatorship, do you see there prosperity or poverty?

I condemn the assault if it is true but I am with the teacher who is telling the doctor to be a decent doctor not a live corpse covered in the coffin of burka or veil.

Badlun i really thought you would condemn it but you instead calling veil barbaric and supported the teacher. The development that you see is not because of secularism, it is because of their rule of law and a proper system implemented.
Badlun you are either a munafiq or an extremist.

Development is concomitant with secularism. There may be some secular societies without development because of no democracy or civil wars as in Africa but there cannot be developed societies without secularism.

Europe was not developed when it was religious/catholic but when it became secular it got developed. Europe was in dark ages with religion as Muslim world is today in its own dark ages. The day Christianity was restricted to Church, we saw development.

The only glorious period of Muslim history is when Abbasids like Mamoon encouraged Mutazilism and scientific rational way of life but when Mullah became dominant , Muslim world was plunged into darkness.

Religion is basically for morality and spirituality in this world and success in the Hereafter but not for the material world. When you determine everything with religion, the result will be failure in worldly matters.
