South African anti-apartheid leader Nelson Mandela has died aged 95 at his Johannesburg home, family and friends had gathered to pay their last respects to the iconic figure that inspired millions around the world.
South African president Jacob Zuma addressed the nation on live television to make the announcement that Mandela, or Mandiba as he is known in the country, had died at the age of 95.
"Let us conduct ourselves with the dignity and respect that Mandiba personified," said president Zuma, who ordered the country's flags to fly at half-staff, and announced a full state funeral for the anti-apartheid champion.
Mandela had been plagued by poor health in recent years. The former president has been in critical condition since June, suffering from a lung infection, in addition to severe stomach, prostate and eye problems.
The first black president of South Africa spent almost three months in a Pretoria hospital after being admitted in June and has been receiving intensive care from doctors since September, when he was discharged from hospital and returned home.
His grandson Ndaba recently told a local broadcaster that Mandela was "not doing well at home in bed".
Mandela's daughter Makaziwe said earlier that her father was fighting from his "deathbed."
“Even though you can see he is struggling, the fighting spirit is still there with him" she told South African Broadcasting television news.

A really great man. May his soul be in peace for ever. May Allah bestow upon him all the heavens and paradises.

I am sure he will be in heaven now. I cannot imagine a great man like him burning now in hell fire.

According to this verse of Holy Quran, Mandela does need to be a Muslim for the final salvation.

[2.62] Surely those who believe, and those who are Jews, and the Christians, and the Sabians, whoever believes in Allah and the Last day and does good, they shall have their reward from their Lord, and there is no fear for them, nor shall they grieve.

          R u even muslim bro?

Why do you question the Qur'an so frequently or talk ill of Islam ?

plus you dont know Mandella personally, you never know what his beliefs were. If he was a muslim he would enter Jannah but if he didn't believe in Allah, then Allah is the best judge for him.

and prolly would burn in hell fire if he was a non-believer

leave the decision to Allah and do your work

or perhaps badluns verse that he wants to believe is actually allegory or metaphorical like when he wants to disown something from the quran that he doesn't like.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

Kanye West: ‘I Am The Next Nelson Mandela’

              Dec 06, 2013

Kanye West is under fire today for claiming that he will soon be a bigger cultural and civil rights icon than Nelson Mandela.
In an interview with WGCI radio in Chicago, the notoriously self-promoting rapper said that yesterday's death of the 95-year-old South African leader will finally allow people to focus more of their attention on West's own accomplishments.
In the studio to promote his new music video Bound 2, the conversation soon turned to the day's biggest news out of South Africa. West was asked who he thought on the world stage today could possibly replace Nelson Mandela in terms of leadership, and his unconventional answer left heads spinning.
"I am the next Nelson Mandela," West responded. "I'm only 36 years old, and when I look at everything I've accomplished, it's the only comparison that makes any sense. By the time I'm 95, I'm going to be a bigger hero than he ever was.
"Nelson Mandela did a lot of good work, don't get me wrong. But I think I'm on track to do something even bigger. I liberate minds with my music. That's more important than liberating a few people from apartheid or whatever.
              <a href="http://cas.criteo.com/delivery/ck.php?cb=000000" target="_blank"> <img src="http://cas.criteo.com/delivery/avw.php?zoneid=8923" border="0" alt=" "/> </a>

"Not to say Mandela wasn't for real. I have mad respect. I just think we need to keep things in perspective here. Anyone can be replaced. And I think I'm well on my way towards being the next great black leader. I'm already worshiped around the world. And there's more to come."
              Watch the Throne

Former South African president and anti-apartheid leader Nelson Mandela died yesterday after years of declining health. His legacy of peaceful reconciliation has been universally praised by political leaders, the media and ordinary citizens around the world.
Kanye West, for his part, is known for going to extraordinary lengths to focus attention on himself. His reaction today was so unusual, however, that host Adrian Cronauer decided to challenge his assertions.
"What have you actually done for civil rights?" he asked. "Have you been involved in any campaigns? Any political activities? It seems to me comparing yourself to Mandela is a bit of a stretch."
"I've blazed a trail with my career," West responded. "I faced mad racism when I entered this profession. I mean how many black rappers can you name that came before me? I was a pioneer. And now I'm doing the same thing in the fashion world.
"Not to mention I have a bigger market than he ever did. Mandela was working in South Africa, which has, like what, six people? I started my magic here in the USA and then I took my business global. Worldwide baby.
"I just want everyone out there to know. I see y'all crying on the TV. Being all sad. Just know that Kanye's gonna carry on Mandela's legacy. There's nothing to worry about. I got this."

“If there is a country that has committed unspeakable atrocities in the world, it is the United States of America. They don’t care for human beings.”

so if a non-believer was a good person and did lots of good deeds this person will burn in hell because he is non-muslim but a muslimic person like a taliban or suicide attacker will come into jannah because he is a muslim although he killed lots of innocent people?

Rick Santorum tried to compare Mandela's struggle against apartheid to the Republican's struggle against Obamacare.

Yes Alhamdullah I am Muslim as I believe in the five pillars of Islam but I for the reinterpretation of Islam and Qur'an.

I want teachings of Quran to be understood in the context when the verses were revealed and to have scientific , legal and cultural adjustment with some injunctios related to polygamy, inheritance of women, evidence of women, punishments, hatered against non Muslims, war/qital etc.

I know that Mandela was a Methodist Christian and a great man. Qur'an confirms final salvation for all good people. Mandela being an icon of humanity cannot be burnt in hell fire. God is just. A man so much loved by creatures of the creator, cannot be sent to hell by God because he was not Muslim.
