Twelve-year secondary education will be introduced in Turkmenistan beginning in the 2013/2014 school year, the Turkmen Education Ministry said today.
It is expected that the new school year in secondary schools across the country will be trained
Around 967,500 pupils will study at secondary schools. Around 193,200 pupils will study in the first class.
"All first-graders will get netbooks with the special training and educational programs," a statement said.
The curricula was worked out and approved on the basis of national and international experience in Turkmenistan in accordance with the concept of transiting the secondary schools to the twelve-year period of study.
The school curriculum includes new subjects - fundamentals of the economy, ecology, cultural heritage of Turkmenistan, world culture, the culture of conduct (ethics), information and communication, innovative technologies, modeling and graphics.

1. Turkmenistan, like the Gulf Arab states is:
a: Mainly desert
b: Resource rich
c: Low population
2. It has the potential to become the first fully first world ex-USSR state.
3. It borders Afghanistan and wants ideally to realize the TAPI project which would make both Turkmenistan and Afghanistan prosperous.
I am not sure if the TAPI will ever be realize since the "PI" in TAPI stands for "Pakistan India" and even this week the Pakistani regime spoke against it due to violence on the border between Pakistani occupied Kashmir and
Indian occupied Kashmir.
4. With Turkmen prosperity, Afghans could be able to go there for work instead of/in addition to the Arabian gulf.
5. Afghan traders can also export local goods there.
6. Turkmenistan was the only neighbouring state that even the Taliban had completely normal and peaceful relations with.
