Because we assume the Afghans and our other surrounding neighbours watch Bollywood movies as much as we do (unfortunately), so we like to think they can speak and understand Urdu. *kidding*

1. Urdu is different to Dutch as Urdu is percieved by some Pashtuns in a linguistic war or even campaign of linguistic genocide against Pashto.

2. Pashtunkhwa Pashtuns basically cannot write in Pashto, but they can write in Urdu.

3. Pakistani nationalists have succeeded in supplanting Pashto in terms of making Urdu the written medium that eastern Pashtuns use, their ultimate goal is to make Pashtuns, Urdu/Punjabi speakers as they have done with the Niazi Pathans of Mianwali.

4. Pashtun nationalists who have tried to promote Pashto language in Pakistan have been targeted, perhaps even killed, you will have to ask someone like [MENTION=1201]Toramana[/MENTION] for more details.

This is the general context of Urdu in this forum also bear in mind apart from the aggressive "Pakistanization" campaign waged by the Pakistani state apparatus, Urdu is the official state language of a state which has sponsored terrorism, instability and war in Afghanistan and bombs Pashtuns.

Dutch is not being used to de-Pashtunize Pashtuns or make them forget their language, culture, history, identity nor is Bengali.

However I would oppose the use of Bengali or Sylheti (my language) in this forum.

Tajik vs pashtun hatred
Pakistani army i accept it as i m not a big fan of them too anymore
