Manama: A family of seven forced to live in a park in Madinah in Saudi Arabia could soon see an end to their plight following a pledge by a social affairs official to help them.
Omar Yousuf, a Saudi, said that his family had to leave their home after they could no longer afford to pay the rent. Omar took his children Abdul Rahman, 15, Luma, 12, Lian, 11, Yousuf, five, Yara, three, and Yasmeen, one, to a public park in the city, to live under the scorching sun, local Arabic daily Al Madina reported. His wife moved back to her parents’ house.
“I do not have enough since my salary is not enough to meet all the financial demands,” Omar told the daily. “I had taken out a loan from a company for my brother and a loan from a bank to buy a car and pay the rents. I also borrowed money from friends. I now need to give back around 500,000 riyals (Dh489,539). I do not have that kind of money and in fact I cannot even rent a flat that would protect me and my children,” he said.
Ideas that crossed his mind to help him out of the financial crisis included offering his one-year-old daughter up for adoption.
“I thought about the possibility because if a rich family adopted her, I would receive some money that I would spend on my children,” he said. “Right now, I have nothing. I have been kicked out of the rented house for not being able to pay and I am forced to live in a public park. Life is too expensive and I cannot provide a roof for my children.”
Omar added that he had applied to receive a plot of land from the government, but would have to wait for his turn.
“It is very painful for us and we are forced to live in a public park where I moved my furniture and some household items,” he said.
A social expert is expected to assess the situation and report to the head of social affairs in Madinah, the daily said.
“If the family has a financial issue, then charitable associations will contribute to solving it,” Hatem Barri said.

What makes it worse it is in the city of our prophet (solAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam), and some ulama even say Madina is actually holier than Mecca based on certain "adilla" (evidence)

King Abdullah and the senior Saudi princes need to stop wasting money on the 100,000 Saud tribe/"royal family" whilst ordinary Saudis starve and literally want to sell their daughters.

he has been having kids every two years for the last 16 years. now he is thinking of selling off his one year old child to turn it in to instant money. this makes you want to shed tears..it makes me want to smack him in the head with a brick. if you don't have a steady plan on how you should be providing for your children, you don't have them in the first place. you don't sell them to feed the rest because you are too much of a dumbass who picked up loans from everyone you came across.

Bangladesh is a country with millions of people living like rats because of poverty while the elite behave like hindus from the upper cast totally denying humanity of their fellow country men.

Instead of addressing your own problems you come up here complaining about a family's situation in Saudi Arabia and blaming the king for the family's unfortunate situation.

If we have a corrupt and unjust society, our rulers will be a reflection of who we are.

I haven't bothered to read the subsequent responses to this post.

I initally made it out of anger and said things I shouldn't have and mentioned things I shouldn't have.

As a Muslim I believe in general my original post was "guna" (Persian for sinful, term used amongst South Asian, Iranic and Turkic Muslims) as it would offend Muslims of Afghan background.

Hence I am editing this post and restricting (who knows maybe even virtually reduce to 0) my participation in this forum.

1. Bangladesh is poor but is working to eradicate poverty and is improving rapidly and has progressed faster in all HDI indexes than India or Pakistan.

2. The government there cannot be compared to the Saudis where a tribe of almost 100,000 are given money by the state for free and the country and its wealth is seen as essentially the property of one royal family/clan.

3. One thing I have noticed with Afghani refugees such as you on this Afghani nationalist forum is that you are very anti-Bengali e.g. you, Khostai, Revulsion and none of the Pakistani Pashtuns e.g. Manzareh, Shehbaz Khan, Toramana etc have this attitude.

People register on this forum, get a few meaningless standard "hey, welcome" messages and then after they start posting get personally abused, their nationality abused and if someone were to even say anything negative about Afghanistan or Afghanis they will get banned.

What sort of "hospitality" is that?

On defence.pk, despite their faults they allow criticism of Pakistan sometimes insults but no make great show or claim to "hospitality" (which in reality does not exist on this Afghani forum).

You Afghanis need to sort out your attitude or otherwise you will continue killing, massacring each other and living as refugees through out the world hated even by Pashtuns of Pashtunkhwa (the majority) who call you all "Kabulai" (even if you're from Jalalabad or Kandahar) and look down on you as dishonest and immoral, many whom openly cheer when restrictions on your migration are placed.

So stop attacking other nationalities when you come from a war-torn, civil-war infested land of barbarians who practise child rape (bacha bazi) and are hated by Pakhtoons in Pashtunkhwa.

I have nothing against Bengolis or any other nationality. Stop the drama. Admit it, you have no rebuttal and you have nothing useful to say.

You keep bringing up other irrelevant stuff whenever someone replies to you and refutes your shallow and nonsensical rhetoric regarding politics and religion.

Grow up. A man your age should choose his words carefully.
