Good job judging Gandhi by today's standards. Gandhi grew up and lived in a world where racism was a science. Races were classified and attributes given to them accordingly. It was the absolute norm. Despite that, he championed the causes of equality especially with regards to Muslims and the "untouchable" castes.

We Pashtuns also consider ourselves a "martial" race because of the "science" of that era.

Let's just another person by today's post-modern Western liberal democratic standards. Let's judge Prophet Mohammad by today's standards and see how that debate concludes.

I would've given a more detailed rebuttal/response but this is the only amount of time I'm going to give to a professional copy/paste troll.

Yes, I would ask Also Khostai and any other if You think as possible to write a bit more on Massoud.
Because in all media in the west and among many Tajiks and others I know from Afghanistan he is seen as a hero, while here on PF I learned a very negative view on him, but still i did not exactly understand why?! What were his bad deeds?
Was it his secret non attacking agreement with USSR to get rid of other enemies of his own? Or are there other even worse sides?

He hated Pashtuns and Hazaras and wanted to destroy PAshtun language and culture.

To expand on Khostai's post, massoud also let the Russians pass through the salang pass and tried to partition Afghanistan for a seperate "Tajikstan." Don't get fooled my friend, no other ethnic group other then Tajiks glorifiy him. Pashtuns and Hazaras don't give a crap about this guy. We just saw him as another warlord who gained apparent fame.

If this man is considered a hero, then hekmatyar should be as well.

                Gandhi slept with his granddaughters.

That says a lot about his character.

lol most pashtuns here hate massoud simply because he was a tajik, lets be honest here. the whole thing about wanting to partition the country and hating pashtuns has no evidence behind it. although there are plenty of other legitimate reasons to hate the guy. its like white racists who hate obama because he is black, not because of the million other legit reasons to actually hate him.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

If we're to praise him based on today's standards, why can't we criticize him on today's standards as well?

Is something wrong because we think it's wrong or is it wrong because of its intrinsic lack of virtue?

Sorry, Gandhi does not get a free pass.

No I just don't like warlords, and so called "holy" peopel, who in reality were just power hungry dogs. I also don't like other Pashtun warlords, it has nothing to do with him being a Tajik. If he was a Pashtun I would not change my ideas about him.

Gandhi was a catamite / lender / gandoo who used to get rogered by a Jewish German wrestler. He also had other obnoxious habits that the British Intel came to know about and exploited to the full. I wonder why Badshah Khan was so close to this weird character?

I don't like masood at all, but I want to see the other side, its most likely because most of his enemies (Taliban and other than them) were Pashtuns who could've got him easily killed in any Pashtun area.

Pashtuns who love Ahmad Shah Massoud are those who were defeated and humiliated by the Taliban. They are his former allies.

Uzbeks don't like him at all. They might support him outwardly for political reasons. In fact many Uzbeks even hate Dostum. But because Dostum is like a king, it is difficult to be against him being an Uzbek in Uzbek areas is just dangerous.
