  • Thousands rally against Pakistan in Jalalabad

JALALABAD (PAN): Thousands of people rallied in Jalalabad, the capital of eastern Nangarhar province, against Pakistan on Thursday, supporting Afghan security forces.
Afghan forces pulled down a border gate following a seven-hour clash with Pakistani troops in the Goshta district the province. One Afghan border policeman -- Qasim Mujahid -- was martyred in the high-stakes clash.
As the victim’s body was carried for burial, thousands of protestors in the city chanted “Down with Pakistan, down with ISI and long live Afghan security forces”.
One demonstrator, Rahmatullah, said the protestors Afghan policemen a piggyback ride and held their portraits in a show of support for the security personnel.
He added all shops in the city were closed as people streamed to the venue of funeral prayers for the policeman, a resident of Khewa district, who was killed in the overnight skirmish in Goshta.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

American soldiers had left their posts on this side of the Durand Line which Pakistani troops had occupied after the Americans had left violating the current political status quo.

The Afghan Army had requested the Pakistanis to leave and go back across the Durand Line, they had refused several times and one local commander decided without consultation to drive the Pakistani troops back.

Inshallah the remaining occupied territory across the Durand Line will be liberated, too.
        The only constant is change.

I don´t think so because the occupation forces don´t want to escalate the situation between Afg and Pak.

But I don´t know for sure.

I am just happy that the Afghan Forces took controle of that terrain again.

He is 100% right: Using the same shoddy sources claiming 9 to 10 killed on the Pak side:

"The Ministry of Interior spokesperson told TOLOnews that the increase of Pakistan security forces along the border was a national concern.

"This action is a clear violation and the government will prevent this action by putting some pressure... Isaf also helped Pakistan to build these check points along the Durand line," Sediq Sediqqi told TOLOnews."

eh, not impressed. raising guns against the paki forces for occupying a little piece of land while cooperating with the western forces who occupy the rest of the country.

                  a tragic comedy
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

into Jalalabad? What was the first time?
Afghan side have claimed several times that Pakistan has infilterated 45 km into Afghan territory. If you check the durand line agreement, durand line along mohmand agency was not demarcated as amir abdul rehman wanted the whole mohmand territory, which british refused. If you check out all the border clashes between Pakistan and Afghanistan, most of them have taken place along mohmand agency. Interestingly the breadth of mohmand agency from east to west is roughly 45 km. Is it a coincidence?
How far are these check posts really built inside Afghan territory?. Durand line along mohmand agency is still not demarcated?...In video of aryana tv, the mohmand villagers of the Afghan side were saying that Pakistan has given them Pakistani NIC and other packages....?
I dont think Pakistan is ambitious to occupy territories of Afghanistan, FATA is too much headache for them, most probably those ISAF check posts are stretagically very important and they gladly took it over from ISAF...they thought that Afghans are taken for granted, but their reaction must have surprised them...
Pakistan army do hide the casualties but its not the core issue. Neither Afghans should celebrate on deaths of few pakistani soldiers, taliban have killed thousands of pakistani soldiers without heavy weaponry....What would happen if Pakistan decide to seal the border?...you people know that Pakistan army would not engage with ANA in any kind of battle or war, they would simply seal the border...
Both ANSF and Pak military are supported by U.S and their common enemy is taliban. Future of both ANA and Pak army is bleak, TTP have decided to participate in annual spring operation against ISAF togather with afghan taliban, negating the pakistani concept of good and bad taliban,

amu darya is way too far from FATA.

and is not the site where the clash had happened.

if so was the case the closest region to amu darya is the in pakistan to the wakhan corridor.

                          the reason could be different.

though i really doubt Pakistan is in mood of getting any area of Afghanistan
