  • Abu Dhabi royal family has 150 billion dollars?

Sheik Mansour bin Zayed al-Nahyan, a member of the Abu Dhabi royal family who owns the Manchester City franchise in England, has entered the final stages of negotiation with MLS. Sheik Mansour has a personal fortune of $4.9 billion, and his family has amassed an oil fortune of $150 billion. Sources told the Times that the prospective owners are willing to pay a $100 million expansion fee to add the team to the league. They would be called New York City F.C. and begin play in 2016.

what do they do with all that money? just sit on it I guess. If only gulf royals had some kind of sympathy for the suffering in other parts of the world. Money is indeed the mother a of all evil, the more you have, the more evil you get. Money should never be the aim of life

Its not money that is evil, its the want for money(obsession). Greed.

Islam doesn't discourage wealth at all! Abdur Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) was also very rich but one of the righteous sahaba. It's how the wealth is spent is what matters.

^ but why dont the rich spend the money, look at the amount of billionaires, millionaires in this world, yet look at the amount of poverty, misery and suffering. Money itself may not be evil, but it makes you evil. Greed comes automatically after you get rich

and i dont believe in the notion that Islam allows you to accumulate wealth like this, it's just an excuse rich muslims use to justify their millions or billions of dollars of wealth sitting in their bank accounts.

In Islam Charity and welfare of a society are a very big part of religion. when are these so many billionaires/millionaires contributing to anything good in our part of the world? they are buying soccer teams, spending lavishly on every thing else but charity or good causes, even when they give charity, it's peanuts compared to their wealth

This is great news, since it is being built right in the hub of the vibrant Afghan community -- Flushing. Flushing is already home to two semi-professional soccer clubs, Brishna FC and Ittihad FC. I wouldn't be surprised if this new soccer club has a handful of Afghans playing for it.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!
