Wouldn't be surprised myself. Didn't the CIA train and fund the mujhadeen which was led by OBL anyways?

cia training during the 80s was overrated anyways but you would be surprised at how many informants there are among muslims trying to set them up. that is why i am always wary of these jihadist types online, there is a good chance that its simply an entrapment scenario waiting to happen. sure, the people who fall for it are stupid and naive but its the intel and spy agencies planning the entire thing so they can say hey we caught one, and justify their budgets.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

There is no question about it. These converts, especially the ones who spew out hate for the west are nothing more than people who are looking for naive people to set up. And their waiting too long was done by design. They want these things to happen to get support from the american public for certain action in parts of the world. These people are used as tools to guide foreign policy.

its scary to think that anything we say can be misinterpreted into something bad, then next thing you know you're labeled as the bad guy.

back to the topic though, there are so many unanswered questions

why did the boston globe tweet that there was going to be an explosion across from the library a couple hours before the first explosion?
why was the FBI already at the marathon before the bombs went off?
why were there bomb sniffing dogs?
why is the younger one's backpack not black like explained by the cops?
If there was a bomb in the backpack, wouldn't it be pretty heavy? So why would he carry his backpack over one shoulder?
why would the suspect go back to school, and continue his life like normal after monday if he had done it?
why wouldn't they leave the city?
why does everyone who know the suspects in real life say that they couldn't have done it?
both of them had goals for the future so why would they ruin them?
why does it sound like the suspects are yelling "chill out, chill out, we didnt do it" in the shootout video?
why does it sound like the gun shots are coming from one gun?
who was the guy they arrested that day?
why did the police shoot at the boat when they found the boy there, now that we know there were no weapons on him?
why did the police say he shot himself in the throat so that he wouldnt speak, then they said he wrote to them why and how they did the bombing?
how would he have shot himself in the throat if he didn't have any weapons on him?
why wont they let the parents see their son?

oh yeah, and one of the victims of the bombing, the one who helped police get the suspects, how come in one of his pictures in a wheelchair there is no blood trail behind him? wouldn't blood be flowing from his legs like crazy? and how did he remember seeing someone he doesn't even at such a crowded event after going through such a tragedy?

i think some of the conspiracies out there are ridiculous, and the fact that some people are passing fake posts around the internet is just sad.
We don't really know anything, maybe the suspects could have done it, but when we get unanswered questions like those it's hard to believe anyone.

Exactly right. The justify the budgets part is the most sickenig thing of all. I cannot comprehend for the life of me how anyone can live with themselves for jailing an innocent person simply to be able to justify a governmental allottment. Adherence to the golden rule is rather rare these days.

Hah so as I'm reading this thread all of a sudden I get a 'join my network' request on linkedIn from a guy named 'Joseph Padilla ! Follwed the link and realized it was Padilla & Son's Kimonos.

I'm dying to hear the surviving bomber's unedited statement to why he thought the Boston bombing was a good course of action. Several of those who once said "Not all Muslims are like that" are now thinking "Hmm, maybe Hannity has a point after all". In addition, we'll see people agreeing with increasing use of wartime security measures and intrusive surveillance since 'it worked in Boston'. Every body loses!

Wife of slain Boston suspect "doing everything she can" to assist feds, lawyer says

The wife of slain Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev is "doing everything she can" to assist federal authorities who are investigating the attacks, her lawyer said on Tuesday, according to Reuters.

"She is doing everything she can to assist with the investigation," said Amato DeLuca, the lawyer for Katherine Russell Tsarnaeva. "The report of involvement by her husband and brother-in-law came as an absolute shock to them all."

The lawyer also issued a statement that said Tsarnaeva, whose toddler is the daughter of the late suspect, is "trying to come to terms with these events."

Boston Marathon bombing suspect formally charged in hospital room
According to the Associated Press, Katherine Russell was a talented artist, a good student who grew up Christian, the daughter of a suburban doctor in Rhode Island.

Then she went off to college in Boston.

A few years later, she had dropped out of school, converted to Islam and was Katherine Tsarnaeva, wife of a man who would become a suspect in the deadly Boston Marathon bombings and a subject of one of the biggest manhunts in American history.

                Who are the Tsarnaev brothers?
Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, and his brother, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, two ethnic Chechen brothers from southern Russia, are accused of planting two shrapnel-packed pressure-cooker bombs near the marathon finish line last week, killing three people and injuring more than 200. Tamerlan was killed in a getaway attempt after a gunbattle with police.

Dzhokhar, who was captured hiding in a tarp-covered boat in a suburban Boston backyard and is hospitalized, was charged Monday with using a weapon of mass destruction to kill. Authorities have not released a motive, but two U.S. officials, speaking on the condition of anonymity because they weren't authorized to publicly discuss the investigation, told The Associated Press that evidence suggests the brothers were motivated by a radical brand of Islam.

Tsarnaeva, 24, has avoided the public eye since her identity became known Friday. On the rare occasions when she has emerged from her parents' Rhode Island home, she is dressed in the traditional Muslim headscarf, a hijab, and has refused to answer questions.

Those who know her and knew her husband describe her as sweet and dedicated to Islam.

Tsarnaeva grew up with two younger sisters on a quiet cul-de-sac in North Kingstown, a rural, wooded town a 90-minute drive south from the apartment she would eventually share in Cambridge, Mass., with her husband and his family. Her father, Warren Russell, is an emergency doctor whose Facebook profile lists his high school alma mater as the elite New Hampshire boarding school Phillips Exeter Academy and college as Yale. Her mother, Judith Russell, was listed on her Facebook profile as working at a social services agency.

Tsarnaeva attended North Kingstown High School, graduating in 2007. Her yearbook entry lists her plans as college and the Peace Corps. Her art teacher for four years, Amos Trout Paine, remembered her talent in painting and drawing and said she was at the top of her class.

"The reason why I remember her is she was very nice and very smart," Paine said. "She was ready to learn."

She had friends and was well integrated into class, he said, and did not seem to be interested in religion.

"There was none of that with her," he said. "She was neutral."

She went off to Suffolk University, and Paine did not see her again after that. He said he was surprised to hear she had dropped out of school and even more surprised to hear she was married to a man now accused of bombing the marathon.

"From how I know her, she's a really good person," he said.

A closer look at the Tsarnaev brothers
Suffolk University said Tsarnaeva attended from 2007 to 2010 and majored in communications. DeLuca, her lawyer, said she was a student when she met Tamerlan Tsarnaev at a nightclub, introduced by one of her girlfriends. Tsarnaev, who had attended Bunker Hill Community College, was no longer in school, DeLuca said, and was seeing another woman at the time.

"They went out for a while, and then they stopped and then they went out again," DeLuca said.

Tsarnaeva knew nothing about Islam when they met, said her lawyer, adding he didn't know if marriage was a motivating factor in her conversion. The reason was that she is a believer, he said.

"She believes in the tenets of Islam and of the Quran," DeLuca said. "She believes in God."

The couple got married on June 21, 2010, a Monday, in a ceremony performed by Imam Taalib Mahdee, of Masjid al Qur'aan, in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood, according to their marriage certificate, which lists his profession as a driver.

Mahdee told The Associated Press Tsarnaeva called him saying she and Tsarnaev wanted to get married. Mahdee asked if they had the requisite licenses and she said yes.

Mahdee performed the 15-minute ceremony in the mosque office. Two witnesses were present, but Mahdee does not remember who they were.

"They requested that it was a simple wedding," Mahdee said.

                Both seemed happy, he said.

"They seemed like two people who were getting ready to get married," Mahdee said.

Mahdee said he never saw the couple again and that they never attended his mosque.

The couple had a daughter and lived with her in the Tsarnaev family apartment, which was shared over the years with his mother, Zubeidat, and father, Anzor, now divorced, and Dzhokhar, DeLuca said. He said Tsarnaeva rarely saw her brother-in-law there because he was living in the dorms at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.

Boston bombing suspect: Prosecutors building their case
Tamerlan Tsarnaev's relatives have said that in recent years he became a devout Muslim and prayed five times a day. DeLuca said the couple attended the Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center, although the mosque's executive assistant, Nichole Mossalam, said that Tsarnaeva had never been there to her knowledge.

Leaders at the mosque say Tamerlan Tsarnaev did attend and in recent months had outbursts during two sermons that encouraged Muslims to celebrate American institutions such as the Fourth of July and figures including Martin Luther King Jr.

Last year, Tsarnaev traveled to Russia for about six months, while his wife stayed in their Cambridge apartment. His aunt said he spoke with his wife every day using Skype and at times she would instruct him on how to observe religious practices correctly when he lapsed.

Tsarnaeva's lawyer said she had no reason to suspect her husband of anything and was focused on supporting her family, working 70 to 80 hours, seven days a week as a home health care aide. Her husband cared for their daughter when she was away, Deluca said.

But Anne Kilzer, a Belmont, Mass., resident who went with her daughters to the Tsarnaev home to get facials from Tamerlan Tsarnaev's mother, said when she visited the apartment Tsarnaeva was always there with the baby and her mother-in-law.

Kilzer, who had not been to the home since around Labor Day, when the mother told her she was leaving the country, described Tamerlan Tsarnaev as surly and intimidating and painted his wife as cowed and intimidated by him.

"She was a very sweet woman, but I think kind of brainwashed by him," she said.

She said Tsarnaeva seemed lonely and would bring out the baby for her to hold when she visited.

The apartment was so cramped and crowded, Kilzer said, that it would have been difficult for Tsarnaev to hide criminal activity from his wife.

"Maybe she'll provide answers for all of us," she said.

Federal authorities have asked to interview Tsarnaeva, and DeLuca said he is discussing with them how to proceed.

DeLuca would not provide details on what his client told him her husband was doing in the days before and after the April 15 bombing but said as far as he knew nothing seemed amiss to her in the days after.

Tsarnaev was home when his wife left for work the last day he was alive, DeLuca said. Police say he was run over by a car driven by his brother as he fled gunfire early Friday morning. His brother was captured later that night, wounded and bloody, in Watertown, 10 miles west of Boston; his lawyer has declined to comment.

DeLuca said she learned of her husband was suspected of being responsible for bombing the Boston Marathon the same way a lot of other people did: on TV.

Yeah as the background of these guys emerges day by day the statement by their Uncle 'They were losers' becomes weaker and weaker. Look at that girls face! Without makeup + wearing a headscarf we can still tell she's clearly in the top 20% of looks for this country. The dead Tsarnev was able to charm her pants off and convert her religion... This guy was a player. The living Tsarnev is a good looking, combat athlete. Both had elite educations and were highly intelligent.

So what drove them to try something so poorly planned, what results were they expecting?

                    SiiNii,

Here's a post from 2010 that might help answer your questions:

                    http://non-intervention.com/260/how-...w-hit-america/

"In this context, the Moscow bombings have their most obvious impact on the first aim, to help bleed us to bankruptcy. Almost before the full story in Russia was known, the city governments in New York and Washington, DC, acted to increase security for their municipal transportation systems, thereby draining further funds from budgets that are already deeply in the red. Though not well covered in the media, I cannot help but think that other cities with metro systems surely followed suit.
There are those who will argue that this is nothing to worry about, that the expense of increased subway security is small in the overall scheme of things. And they would be correct, if the expense is looked at in isolation. But when one recalls that the bombings occurred over 4,000 miles away, injured no Americans, were aimed at a foreign power, and that the U.S. economy is already bleeding profusely from the more direct impacts of the Islamists’ war, it is clear that the Moscow attacks did at least marginally advance the Islamists’ goal of helping to bleed our economy."

"The US political class has often scoffed at or ridiculed Bin Laden's goal of driving America to bankruptcy, assuming that al-Qaeda irrationally assumed it could bring down the US economy through its actions alone. This analysis is inaccurate. Just as Bin Laden saw al-Qaeda as the inspirer of jihad and not the jihad itself, he saw that his group's attacks on the US economy could not cause bankruptcy, but might do so if they worsened other US economic problems. Thus the main economic damage done by the 9/11 attacks resulted from the Iraq and Afghan wars, not from the raids on Manhattan and Washington."

                    http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Middle_East/JI27Ak03.html

But why I think that the lone wolf theory is more correct is from this article:

                    http://www.antiwar.com/scheuer/?articleid=12911

And here is lastly, a very predictive comment:

                    http://www.npr.org/2012/05/01/151769...h-are-we-safer

"SCHEUER: I would build on what you said, ma'am. I think what we're seeing is a gradual improvement in the talent and the capabilities of the people who are operating in our own country. You're exactly right. They started out stupid and almost foolish, but the recent attacks have come very close to being effective. I think five years from now, you'll see U.S. military forces somehow engaged in the United States trying to fight what will be a growing number of those kinds of attacks.
MARTIN: A very sobering thought. Michael Scheuer served in the Central Intelligence Agency for more than two decades. He was in charge of the team tasked with tracking Osama bin Laden from 1996 to 1999 and consulted with that unit after that. He's the author of a number of books, most recently, "Osama bin Laden." He's an adjunct professor at Georgetown University."
