If you think about it, too much nationalism forces the mind to be racist. it's just human nature.
Nationalism is nationalism, there is no too much in it.

Btw, what is your opinion about the false pakistani nationalism they project so much through their propaganda machines and through their paid journalists? What about the Majid Nizami version of nationalism ( a covert Punjabi chauvinism) who has been a mouth piece of the punjabi establishment? Is there something wrong with Pashtun/afghan nationalism or you can say the same about Pakistani naitionalism also? What about the immense atroticities east bengalis were subjected to in the name of pakistani nationalism? if pakistan has learnt anything from the bangladesh debacle, they why doesn't it hand over powers to the federating units?

I disagree..there is a big difference between nationalism and racism and hence both can't be in conflict. However, the opponents of nationalism often use it (racism) as a weapon against the political struggle of nationalists in order to malign them.
As a general rule, excess of everything is bad. However that is not relevant to our point here.
Racism--the belief that one's race is superior to others and hence could lead to violation of the basic rights of the inferior ones.
Nationalism--unifiying a 'nation' identified as one ethnic group and working to gain the political, social, cultural, and economic rights as a disadvantaged group.

Jasmine..Is this less that he is serving the president of Afghanistan? Ain't you happy not to have Mullah Omar as president??
So far development is concerned..let's be realistic--You cannot expect them to be solved in one day. The biggest problem so far are . Once he get rid of them, only then he will be able to focus on Pashto language.

The difference is that Nationalists don’t use logic, partly because they lack the intellect.

When one who proclaims to be a "patriot" or as we say in Farsi "Watan Dost" fails to use common sense in carrying out his goals or doesn’t possess the logic, then it is easier and natural for him to move towards the one dimensional nationalist label. It is then from here with the exile of logic and common sense that the path towards fascism becomes very very slippery.

Jasmine, i would ask you to corroborate that with instances and facts. And what India are you talking about pre-independence or post-independence.

And in case your assertions are true, pray could you tell me India's reasons for not supporting Pashtuns?

No, I think different. our interests might seem like they are beneficial but if Pakistan is unhappy do you think they will leave us alone?

So yes I thank you Khalsawarrior for building our parliament. yes I thank you for everything you have done, but Pakistan will just blow it up the next week.
Maybe I am wrong, but your post depicts a fear of Pakistan and its policies. Seems like you are ready to forego something good because you are afraid of the evil. Instead of saying that Afghans can fight off Pakistan and its negative influences you are saying that you dont need India's help as that will offend Pakistan?

Tell me what good is a friend if it cant be happy with your growth?

Khidr, we have been tortured ever since 9/11. What have your brother Tajiks done to support us. What have they done mentally? I can tell you what I have done. I have created a thread working on bridging our Tajik-Pashtun gap. As I am against ethnic nationalism. How does it make Pashtuns feel that Tajiks have sided with Nato. How can we have that citizen love for one another when are hardly on the same page?

                Regards my dear.
How would a Tajik feel when an Pashtun sided with Pakistan ISI?
