Nothing serious really. Just a joke. You can mention naswar---Lol---just wanted to point to the ludicrousness of the whole situation---It is army foremost Kiyani that has failed to check terrorism---so Kiyani and ISI boss should have been punished-Originally posted by Talal View Post^ Why call everyone singh ?

^^ The thing about Kayani is, his ideology from the start has been to keep the army away from politics, they always interfere and then its back to square one so I dont know maybe im not reading the situation correct but id really rather the army stay away from politics and internal matters. I admit the security situation is pretty bad but still I think the government has to own up to it and take responsibility. The police should be providing security and preventing this but its in the gutter as it is.It's enough that I know, Our time had a home, In your heart..Was a place..But the glass always breaks..

As long as the army tolerates rather supports terrorists sanctuaries and organizations, no civilian effort can succeed. All organs of the state should have unanimity of purpose and act in unison. This is what happened in US when it was attacked in 2001. Civilian law enforcing and intelligence agencies focused on identifying and eliminating inland terrorist networks whereas the military attacked terrorist sanctuaries.Originally posted by Talal View Post^^ The thing about Kayani is, his ideology from the start has been to keep the army away from politics, they always interfere and then its back to square one so I dont know maybe im not reading the situation correct but id really rather the army stay away from politics and internal matters. There are credible rumors that Qadaris, and TTP have been unleashed by the army and ISI to cajole the civilian govt into surrender into technocratic type interim set-up according to military wishes.
But I can understand your sentiments as a Punjabi for the Punjabi army.

^ My sentiment is that live and let live, there was a point when I used to be very nationalistic but over the years I've realized its not the flags or name of the empires even our stories of conquest that matter. These things perhaps are important for those who dont have to see their people die day in and day out.
No I feel that whatever solution leads to the long term stability of all the people should be the route a nation should take. I have no problems in admitting that if Pakistan were to disintegrate tomorrow and everyone would suddenly be prosperous I'd be very happy for it. But that's not a solution that would work so instead you work for a democratic change from within. Pakistan has made its fair share of mistakes all we can do is learn from them.

Now that is a sensible reply. Military should be prevented at all cost from undermining democracy---at the same time there should be strong media, institutional, judicial etc. pressure on politicians to perform---Moreover, if the region prosper we prosper and that is possible only if there is peace in the region. Only, recently there was MFN status to be given to India but suddenly tensions along border arose. Now who caused the tension?Originally posted by Talal View Post^ My sentiment is that live and let live, there was a point when I used to be very nationalistic but over the years I've realized its not the flags or name of the empires even our stories of conquest that matter. According to one study good relations and trade with India will raise Pakistan's GDP growth rate by 2%.Last edited by Toramana; 01-13-2013, 09:29 PM.

These kinds of take overs wont do anything, these are all temporary solutions, if the army/ISI was ever serious about making the situation better, they would dismantle all these hundreds of terrorists groups, but they wont because we all know that the army/ISI is the one who has created many of them. Everything is lie in that country and pakistanis are just plain dumb to always trust their beloved army/ISI
