CIA Director David Petraeus has resigned, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper said in a written statement Friday. The former Army general, who rocketed to global prominence as the man in charge of the "surge" in Iraq, quit over an extramarital affair, MSNBC reported.
"Today, CIA Director David Petraeus submitted his letter of resignation to the President," Clapper wrote. "Dave's decision to step down represents the loss of one of our nation's most respected public servants.
"From his long, illustrious Army career to his leadership at the helm of CIA, Dave has redefined what it means to serve and sacrifice for one's country," continued Clapper, whose statement did not specify a reason for the decision.
Petraeus went to work as CIA chief in September 2011 after heading up the war in Afghanistan. He had drawn fire in the aftermath of the Sept. 11 attack on the American compound in Benghazi, Libya.
White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said President Barack Obama "will address this with a statement later." But he declined to confirm the circumstances of the retired general's departure. "I don't have any details to give to you," he said.

I saw his mistress Miss Broadwell on the Daily Show. It was rather obvious she got to know Davey a little too well. This liar, charlatan, and overly played up general gets exactly what he deserves. He was never as capable as the media complex claimed and pretty much lead America to defeat in two theatres. He nearly told the truth about the detriment of the America Israel relationship but licked neocon Max Boots shoe bottom when the latter started to go after him on this.

Most ironic is that this is the same author of the CIA red cell memo that stated Afghan women would be used to guilt allies into staying in the war. Perhaps his wife needs more ally power help to secure her rights from this zinawar.

What is perhaps more interesting is the fact that these elite a holes mock Islamic polygamy and that their eastern secular worshippers tout these douche bags as advancing womens rights, yet all the while they keep illicit lovers who enjoy none of the rights of a wife in terms of health care, property etc. Hypocrasy at its height.

a polygamist family structure is based on honesty and understanding and is based on the word of god, granted the man can provide for his women. men who cheat on their spouses, especially the kind of men who are part of an establishment/society that frowns on polygamy, that lie to and destroy their families are complete ****.

Behind the public view there are serious conflicts among various Intel agencies of USA. There is also the never ending quarrel between the State Deptt and CIA. The Benghazi fiasco needs a escape goat. Also to note is the ambitious lady called Hillery. They say she has already launched her 2016 Presidential campaign. This General was becoming a possible rival.

You might be correct, however US military personnel fall under an additional set of laws know as the Uniform Code of Military Justice. General P was in violation of Article 134.
