1.Burmese Muslims and Rohingya Muslims are different. The bulk of the Burmese Muslims are descendants of Kublai Khan's Muslim army that was sent from China to conquer and rule Burma. The commander and governor was a Central Asian Muslim like his troops. The other major Muslim entry was during the British rule. The local Burman men by nature are lazy and remain mostly under influence of opium. In the matriarchal society it is still the women who run the show. But more important is the Buddhist philosophy which believes all philosophies/systems/customs had ended with Buddhism. The Burman Buddhists therefore refused to learn English or work under the British rulers. People from South Asia, including the Pashtuns, were quick to fill into govt jobs, private businesses, etc. Soon Rangoon, Mandalay and major Burmese cities were full of S Asians. They were the first target of the riots started just before WWII.
2. Rohingyas, on the other hand, belong to Arakan which is a geographic extension of Bengal. Not only geographical but Arakan has historical and cultural links with Bengal and really have none with Burma. Even now to travel from Akyab the capital of Arakan to Rangoon, the most reliable connection is by ship involving a journey of 3.50 days. Rohingyas are descendants of the Arab traders who have been settling here since 50 BC. The word Arakan is derived from the Arabic word "rokon" meaning the beginning. Most of the Rohingyas still speak Urdu and the older ones use Arabic. -
I read a story by an Afridi journalist from Peshawar, i which it was stated that the destruction of Budha's statue in Bamyan by Taliban in their regime was the major cause of this killing in Burma, i was searching the article on facebook to post here but i fail to find. If i got i will post here.

Furthermore i would like to share a link where the pictures are compared, most of them are fake. I don't know why media is promoting such photos rather then taking a positive step.
