About 10 000 true fighters were killed by Fahim,Dostam,U.S forces during 2001 when they surrendered in the north.
But during the 11 years of war,the number could be less than 5 000 but there are no figures on this.
Moron, can you read? I just said I'm just presenting this guys numbers as a GENTLE estimate ....I never said I agreed with his numbers But that is THE MOST 'Gentle" estimate for the Taliban; Even if we have that that means the Taliban lost nearly 2/3 of its fighting force. The higher estimates are 50,000; since the U.S. use air power most of the Taliban bodies get incinerated hence its hard to really know. But MORE Taliban dead than American soldiers
Taliban= terrible fighters.....your heroes suck at fighting
where is your proof that 50,000 Taliban are all over the country and that the casualty numbers are low?
He is no different than us,he blindly believes in the words of other men,:
when you one hand them, they are muzzle heavy so you tend to shoot down. but once you start shooting the muzzle blast lifts the front end until you start shooting high. if you keep the bursts between 5-10 shots you'll stay in your target area. the weapon itself is heavy enough that recoil is manageable unless you're small or very thin. still, best use of the weapons involve using two hands and the stock tight into your shoulder.Originally posted by Afghanistan2010 View PostPKMs loaded are pretty heavy, beside this the recoile is a thing for itself.

Yes,i will share with you as soon as i find the video.
There is an iraqi resistance fighter firing the whole magazin, and he is pushed more than 8 m back...lol and he is not thin.High achievement always takes place in the framework of high expectation.

then he is doing something wrong. the PKM recoils more than the M240 used by American forces but not that bad. when I got to Iraq the first time we didn't have enough Machine guns for my platoon so I picked up 3 PKMs and we carried them along with our regular weapons. i like it it is a good weapon.Originally posted by Afghanistan2010 View PostYes,i will share with you as soon as i find the video.

Living in Utah, too - whereabout?
what concern is it of yours?
He is no different than us,he blindly believes in the words of other men,:
What concern?
He sounds like he really knows something about weapons used
in at least more modern guerrilla warfare.
I studied a lot about them back in the antiSoviet jihad days, so I still
have a keen curiosity.
I admit - I used to read Soldier of Fortune magazine, even, to learn more !
As far as Utah, that's remarkable that anyone would be from there who
would appear on here.

Where were you deployed, which sector, next larger base ?Originally posted by Tor Gul View Postthen he is doing something wrong. the PKM recoils more than the M240 used by American forces but not that bad. when I got to Iraq the first time we didn't have enough Machine guns for my platoon so I picked up 3 PKMs and we carried them along with our regular weapons. i like it it is a good weapon.
I rechecked the video, the resistance fighter is thin, his weight some av. 66 to 70 kg.
The problem the U.S forces faced less is that of ammo that misses and does not shoot, because most of these weapons used by the insurgency were soviet made weapons from the 80s...except for the RKG 3.
But stil the insurgents were more intelligent and developed as even for today improvised weaponary.High achievement always takes place in the framework of high expectation.

I don't know what he wrote, but that's much reassuring just
to see the - Pashto ? - script. Or Arabic or some language which has relevancy.
Phew, I am glad he is not American. We don't need any more of those troubled soldiers here.
He didn't sound hostile, either, about the video or ideas discussed,so
I guess it IS Afghan. After all, no American would be astutue or subtle enough
to masquerade as a "Black Rose" or "Black Flower" in Pashto.
They would doubtless consider it beneath themselves to use anything but an American first name...
I am just mentioning this because of the pervasive mentality of ignorance
and arrogance among Americans of today of not even trying to understand people from other cultures.
Well I guess I will look up this PKM on wikipedia.
