LAHORE: Gunmen on Thursday shot dead nine police and prison staff, and wounded three others after storming a building in Ichhra where they were sleeping, police said.It was the second attack in three days on security personnel in the province of Punjab, raising fears of a fresh wave of violence.

The attackers arrived on motorbikes and targeted a building in the densely populated area of Ichhra, where up to 35 police and prison staff were living, mostly officers from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa who were in Lahore for training."

The gunmen came early in the morning, entered the building and opened fire," Lahore police chief Aslam Tareen told.There was no immediate claim of responsibility. The gunmen fled and Tareen said police were investigating who was responsible.

They should have targeted higher level Punjabi officials . I guess many of these belong to poor Pashtun families who have no choice but to join Police/Army in order to feed their families. Nine dead, ninty will be there to replace them.

I would not argue with the comment of feeding someone,they are tainting there hands with the blood of people to feed their children,as if we were living on mars and there is no other work than to become a bloodthirsty killer to survive.

To the pakistani pashtun, its not about panjabi vs pashtun. they dont view pashtuns as slaves of panjabis or that panjabis are ruling over them. They view people that are in uniform no matter what ethnicity they are as enemies who are bombing and killing them. They actually hate the pashtun in uniform who fail to side with their kin more than any panjabis in uniform.

They also are not sympathetic for the reasoning of why people join the security apparatus, they only care about why they are being targeted themselves by people of their own country in uniform.

this attack basically tells the pakistani society that the nation is bleeding, there is a problem, please address it.

What if these poor hands had been used against India. Would Indian forces forgive them on the basis of this logic that they are feeding their children ?
