Iran: There will be war – and we'll win

Written by Staff Report Sunday, 01 July 2012 07:02

An exclusive by WND.com reports that just days after the breakdown of talks with the West over Iran’s nuclear program, the deputy chief commander of the Revolutionary Guards publicly announced that there soon will be war – and that Allah will ensure his forces are victorious.

The last round of talks between Iran and the P5+1 (the United States, Britain, France, China, Russia and Germany) ended in Moscow last week without any agreement on Iran’s illicit nuclear program.

Gen. Hossein Salami, in a televised interview, boasted that, “Iran has complete control of all the enemy’s interests around the world and is on a path to reach equivalency with world powers.” The commander emphasized that Iran’s nuclear program is irreversible, the Islamic Republic News Agency reported.

Salami said war is inevitable, and the Iranian forces are ready.

“The current sanctions will only help Iran with its progress, and the Iranian ballistic missiles can target the enemy’s moving carriers with 100 percent accuracy,” he warned the West. “The Guards’ operational plan includes a radius of deterrence in the region in which all interests of the enemy have been identified, and in case of war, those interests will be attacked.”

The Revolutionary Guards have more than 1,000 ballistic missiles capable of reaching all U.S. bases in the region, all of Israel and some capitals in Europe. In collaboration with China and North Korea, they are also working on intercontinental ballistic missiles.

Salami said the Guards are on high alert, adding, “Our forces in relation to our internal security will complete their mission with all of their capability.”

Referring to sanctions on Iran, Khamenei said, “America itself is surrounded by serious problems, which cannot be solved. … Their main goal is to separate the Islamic republic from the support of its people. … Allah willing, this conspiracy will also be defeated.”

Iran to fire missiles in desert war games
    (AFP) – 1 hour ago
TEHRAN — Iran's Revolutionary Guards announced they are to fire ballistic and other missiles at desert targets during three days of war games starting Monday in a warning to threats of military action by Israel and the United States.
"Long-, medium- and short-range surface-to-surface missiles will be fired from different locations in Iran... at replica airbases like those used by out-of-region military forces," the head of the Guards aerospace division in charge of missile systems, Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, said.
"These manoeuvres send a message to the adventurous nations that the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps is standing up to bullies alongside the determined and unified Iranian nation, and will decisively respond to any trouble they cause," he was quoted as saying by the Guards' official Sepah News website.
Although Iran frequently holds war games, these exercises appeared to underline Tehran's threat to strike US military bases in neighbouring countries -- in Afghanistan, Bahrain, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia -- if it comes under attack by Israel or the United States.
Tel Aviv and Washington have said that military action against Iran remains an option if diplomacy and sanctions fail to convince the Islamic republic to curb its sensitive nuclear programme.
Hajizadeh said the war games, titled Great Prophet 7, would "test the accuracy of missile warheads and systems" by hitting the mock camps in the Kavir Desert in central Iran.
He mentioned two types of ballistic missiles that would be used: the Qiam, which has an estimated range of around 500 kilometres (300 miles), or 750 kilometres according to Iranian media; and the Khalij Fars anti-ship missile, which has a range of 300 kilometres.
Tehran refers to its ballistic missiles as "long-range" although other world militaries qualify them as "short-range".
The longest-range ballistic missile Iran possesses in its arsenal is the medium-range Shahab-3 which, with a range of up to 2,000 kilometres, is capable of hitting Israel. There was no indication in Hajizadeh's remarks that a Shahab-3 would be used in the manoeuvres

Iran: We will 'confront' new EU oil sanctions

Iran has stored up imported goods and hard currency for a "battle" against EU sanctions targeting the country's vital oil sector that went into effect Sunday, officials said. They acknowledged though that the measures, which aim at pressuring the Islamic Republic over its nuclear program, may cause economic disruptions.

    TEHRAN, Iran —

Iran has stored up imported goods and hard currency for a "battle" against EU sanctions targeting the country's vital oil sector that went into effect Sunday, officials said. They acknowledged though that the measures, which aim at pressuring the Islamic Republic over its nuclear program, may cause economic disruptions.

Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi said the country has stockpiled necessities to reduce the impact of the embargo hitting the oil and banking sectors.

"Today, we are facing the heaviest of sanctions and we ask people to help officials in this battle," Rahimi was quoted by state television's website as saying at a religious conference. He said the "dastardly sanctions" might cause "occasional confusion" in the market, but that the Iranian nation would not be stopped.

Central bank governor Mahmoud Bahmani also told the semiofficial Mehr news agency that Iran has "plans" to deal with the embargo and enough hard currency to meet its import needs.

The EU said earlier this week that all contracts for importing Iranian oil will have to be terminated from Sunday. Also, European companies will no longer be involved in insuring Iranian oil.

The measures come on top of previous sanctions levied by the U.S. and the West that have already hit Iran's economy. U.S. officials say the American sanctions have cut exports of Iranian crude from about 2.5 million barrels a day last year to between 1.2 and 1.8 million barrels now.

"We have not remained passive. To confront the sanctions, we have plans in progress," said Bahmani. He did not elaborate on the plans.

Iran's Oil Minister Rostam Ghasemi meanwhile ordered his staff to "mobilize" against "illegal sanctions," Mehr said. It did not say what the measures were.

Late Saturday Ghasemi told state television that Iran has weathered previous rounds of sanctions. "I do not see it as a problem that enemies have imposed an embargo today," he said. "They have imposed similar sanctions years ago, and nothing happened."

He said Iran has already stopped selling oil to many EU countries and sold to others instead. "Developing countries and countries with fast economic growth have no alternative to oil. Fortunately, because of the quality of our country's oil, all are interest in using it."

Mehr published its own analysis listing measures that Iran could take to counter the sanctions, including shutting the vital Strait of Hormuz off its southern coast that handles a fifth of the world's oil supply - a threat that has repeatedly been made by Iranian officials in the past. The semiofficial news agency's editorials sometimes reflect views held by top Iranian officials who do not wish to state them publically.

On Sunday, however, Iran's Defense Minister Gen. Ahmad Vahidi made statements to the official IRNA news agency about the Strait in which he did not mention any plans to close it - remarks that suggest that Iran is playing down the threat in dealings with the West.

Vahidi said Iran is the main protector of the waterway, and that Tehran "has confronted anybody who tried to endanger the Strait."

Mehr also suggested that Iran could make use of hard currencies other than the U.S. dollar and the euro, form its own insurance syndicate to replace foreign companies that withdraw from the market, store up oil in tanks for later sale so as not to cut production, or simply reduce oil production to save its reserves for the future.

The U.S. and EU measures are intended to pressure Iran over fears that it is developing nuclear weapons.

Iran denies the charges, saying its nuclear program is aimed at peaceful purposes like power generation and cancer treatment.

‘IRGC able to fight with enemy thousands of kilometers away from Iran’

        30 June 2012 14:55

TEHRAN – Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) forces are capable of fighting with the enemy thousands of kilometers away from the Iranian borders, an IRGC Ground Forces official says.

“Today, all bases of the enemy are within range of our missiles. One day, they used to fight with us near the country’s borders. But today, we can fight with them thousands of kilometers further away,” Brigadier Morteza Miran said in an interview published on the website of the Persian service of the Fars News Agency on Saturday.

He also said that the enemy should be aware that it is not in its interests to engage in an armed conflict with the Islamic Republic because Iran will not give in to “bullying”.

“The enemies should be aware that unlike them that try to stay alive in their calculations, we, based on our religious teachings, believe that we are victorious whether we kill or be killed in the path of God,” Miran explained.

On the capabilities of Basiji volunteer forces of the IRGC, Miran said, “Our nuclear bomb is the Basij because the Basij has the specifications of a nuclear bomb, and, like a nuclear bomb, its destructive power is not controllable. The might of the Basij is infinite.”

They cannot assess the power of Basiji forces to destroy enemy targets, he said, adding that Basiji forces are able to “fire into the heart of the invading country.”

What Iran doesn't realize is the US will bomb them to smithereens, if need be. Hopefully diplomacy prevails, war is the last thing the region needs.

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

US naval forces in region within reach of Iranian vessels: IRGC commander
            Xinhua | 2012-7-1 10:30:52
By Agencies A senior commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said Saturday that US naval forces in the region are within an easy reach of the Iranian vessels, the semi-official Fars news agency reported.

The United States' huge and slow warships and aircraft carriers are proper hit-and-run targets for Iranian boats, Deputy Lieutenant Commander of the IRGC Ground Force for Operations, General Morteza Miriyan, told Fars on Saturday.

Iran enjoys the needed capability to have tough and serious confrontation against enemy threats at all levels and make them regret for their aggressive act, Miriyan was quoted as saying.

Western countries, including the United States and Israel, suspect the Iranian nuclear activities and claim that the Islamic republic is pushing its nuclear program for weapon-grade activities. Iran has stressed that its nuclear program aims at " peaceful" purposes.

The United States and Israel have not ruled out the possibility to attack Iran's nuclear facilities.

Also, Commander of Iran's Basij (volunteer) forces, Brigadier General Mohammad-Reza Naqdi, said Saturday that the weapons supplied by Western powers and their regional allies to the " terrorist" and dissident groups in the region will soon be used against the Zionist regime, Fars reported.

Naqdi described as "fruitless" the support extended by the United States, the West and the regional reactionary regimes to " terrorist" groups in Syria, and said the enemies should not feel happy about the companionship of a number of Syrian youth who have been deceived, because their hopes will fade away soon.

"The enemy should take a lesson from its continuous failures in Lebanon, Gaza, Egypt and the resistance in Syria and realize that sending weapons to break the line of resistance will yield no result but victory of the resistance front," Naqdi was quoted as saying.

UN-Arab League joint special envoy Kofi Annan on Saturday urged world and regional powers to unite in order to find a solution to the Syria crisis as ministers started a close-door meeting in Geneva.

Annan said in his opening remarks at the Action Group on Syria meeting that relevant countries have to make a clear choice between "either unite to secure your common interests; or divide, and surely fail each in your own individual way" as "an international crisis of grave severity now looms."

He warned of the extreme dangers posed by the conflict to Syrians, to the region and to the world.

Report: Iran to hold massive missiles maneuver

                By Associated Press,

TEHRAN, Iran — Iran’s official news agency reports the powerful Revolutionary Guards are planning war games this week, including drills with surface-to-surface missiles.
The IRNA agency said the maneuvers would begin Monday in Iran’s central desert and last three days.

The Sunday report quotes Gen. Ami Ali Hajizadeh, chief of the airspace unit of the Guards. He said missiles would target bases modeled after those of foreign armies.
He said the maneuver is aimed at assessing the accuracy and effectiveness of warheads and systems.
Iran’s Shihab-3 missile has a range of 2,000 kilometers (1,200 miles) and can reach Israel and southern Europe.
The announcement coincides with the beginning of a European Union oil embargo mean to pressure Iran over its nuclear program. Iran denies Western suspicions that it wants to build nuclear weapons.

I think there will be a war with Iran, and it will result in a protracted regional war/world war which one cant predict when such a war will end.

Shadowgovernor pointed out the regional scenario accurately.

if you thinking about nuclear strike, thats impossible, the nukes are more for show and pressure.IF they use a nuke than you will have a nuclear war which will result in end of the world.

irans missiles are limited, and they probably aren't very accurate. in the videos, you always see them fired but you never see how far they go or where they land.

you don't need nukes to cripple iran, just look at how defenseless iraq was against the american attack with conventional weaponry.

no one is talking about regime change, so an attack would be quick and swift. aimed at destroying irans nuclear installations(not a good chance) or at least setting it back, and destroying its defensive and offensive military capabilities(very good chance).
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.
