our stomachs also contain alcohol, the alcohol in pepsi/coke is so minute that you can't consider it acoholic drink

even fruit juice on average has a slight amount of alcohol, this is just inevitable because of bacterial metabolisation of sugar.

Try this. It gives you the buzz so it's very refreshing but it doesn't have any of the harmful stuff.

well then tell them to stop drinking mango juice and lassis and, anything else with sugar ...because there will be alcohol in ALL sugar drinks, Alcohol is the product when Bacteria metabolise sugar.

Also tell them to stop eating fruit, same thing

Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

Why don't we just kill ourselves and get it over with then??
doesn't sugar have to be processed over time in order for it to turn in to alcohol??

                    Good thought.

What do you think about (or how to explain) the commentary from the article though:

"Of 19 colas tested, the nine which did not contain alcohol were made by brands including Auchan, Cora, Casino, Leader Price and Man U-Cola.
                    "

If it does not have any effect/alcoholic then it is not always haram,
alcohol is haram because of the intoxication.

As a chemist even Glucose which is base of every sugar, its structure consists of several alcohol or (OH) groups which shows that even glucose can be attributed to alcohols.

                      Addition :

                      Alcohol in coca cola

                      Fatwa Date : Thul-Qi'dah 17, 1421 / 11-2-2001

                      Question

I've heard that coca cola contains alcohol. Since then I stopped drinking it. But most of my Muslim friends say that I'm crazy, because I wouldn't get drunk if I drank coca cola. But then I come with the hadeeth:"Kullu ma askara katheeruhu fa qiluhu haraam". My question is: Am I exaggerating? What about the hadeeth? Would you ('jazaka ALLAHU kheyran') answer my question with strong arguments (hadeeth and Quran verses)? salamu ALLAHI aleykum

                      Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
If it is proven that coca cola is mixed with something which may intoxicate if it is drunk on its own, then coca cola is forbidden otherwise no. However, if you avoid drinking it in order to stay away from doubtful things, then this is something religiously praiseworthy. The Prophet said: "Whoever avoids the doubtful matters, safeguards his religion and honour.'' [Al-Bukhaari and Muslim].
As regards the narration which you asked about in the question, it is authentic and it is reported by At-Tirmithi, An-Nasaa'ee, Abu Daawood, Ahmad and Ibn Maajah .
Its meaning is also confirmed in another narration which reads: "Any kind of intoxicant (which causes drunkenness) is forbidden." [Al-Bukhaari and Muslim]. The expression ''any kind of intoxicant'', includes a small quantity and a big quantity.
                      Allaah Knows best.

Why would one not be encouraged for clearing off facts rather than avoiding "doubtful matters"??

I and many other people have discussed the issue of such drinks, and i sided with those who see it as not harmful because they do not intoxicate, alcohol may used to work with the mixture.

And regarding this i have also asked scholars, and red alot of fatawaas/rulings that it is not haram aslong as it does not intoxicate and has no effect even if you drink 1000000 litres of it.

The real outrage is when Cola is cheaper in some places than clean/bottled water.

cough syrup has a pretty good amount of alcohol and so does mouthwash.
