  • Bomb-rigged bike seized in Kandahar

Security forces found and seized an explosives-laden motorcycle parked in front of a hospital in southern Kandahar province, an official said on Friday.
The bomb-rigged bike was seized in front of the Mirwais Civil Hospital in Kandahar City on Thursday evening, the governor’s spokesman, Javed Faisal, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Two New Zealand workers with the International Committee for the Red Cross (ICRC) were slightly injured after they ran to flee the hospital fearing a bomb blast.
No arrest could be made in connection with the explosives.

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

This is perhaps one out of a number of incidents which are mostly fabricated by the Karzai regime. Girls school poisoning was the classic BS spin- completely fabricated in all aspects.

I mean with their record of press releases, pretty sure this one is false too.

Pajhwok news is the mouthpiece of the Karzai regime.

I suppose, ( I didn't say I wonder) what actually happened is some innocent men who had no intention of hurting anyone happened to forget his bomb in front of the hospital. The "illegal puppet government" is taking advantage of the innocent man's misfortune by blaming it terrorists. Yeah, that makes whole lot more sense..

they have publicly taken responsibility for bombing and attacking funerals, hotels, and restaurants....but this is somehow fabricated? haha wowza's

i like how the guy who doesn't even know the simple demographics of kabul is somehow the authority on facts.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

Oh my, and since when did a lack of understanding about the demographics of Kabul translate across to my assessment about the Karzai regimes antics? Have I ever claimed to be all knowing? Maybe you claim to be all knowing.

So you believe this that the Afghan insurgency targets civilians, and leaves bicycle bombs outside civilian centers? and that the Karzai regime has revealed the truth and exposed the Taliban? How many times have the Karzai regime done the same thing- falsifying reports of girl school poisoning, etc.

Many. Its now accepted jargon in most Western intelligence agencies for when something goes wrong to except NDS's terminology as shifting all blame to the Taliban or Pakistan.

For instance, Najib Quereshi documented many cases, only a few of which showed up in his documentary on opium brides, of situations in which drug barons also committed various aggressive acts. He notes that often times these instances are blamed on the Taliban.

With respect to the hospital plot and bike bomb:

                      A) Have we seen the device?
                      B) Has an examination of the device's parts been done to trace their origin (e.g. the US is currently pressurizing Pakistan to deal with the fertilizer plant from which many of these guys get components)
                      C) It doesnt have to be that every acid attack or every bitter family rivalry is a Talib non talib thing. Take for instance Rich Stengel's graphic pictorial in Time on Ayesha. As Dr. Miraki pointed out, to date Time has not furnished the evidence that her husband was a Talib.
                      D) There are affiliate groups that are now working together. For example, Haqqanis, Hekmetyaar, the Quetta group all were not on one page before.

The US and UN have had a major problem on their hands because many components for such devices are littered throughout the tribal areas and in southern Afghanistan itself. The end products are not sitting there like on a Walmart shelf, but for that matter how do these average Joe burned lovers get ahold of sulfuric and hydrochloric acid?

Ahmad Khattak, the son of a tribal leader in Karrak told us in the audience a story about how a Kharoti set of such a device near his ancestoral home, blowing off the leg of his female cousin. The Kharoti was tracked to angoor adda right near the border, smuggled back to Karrak, shot, burned, and dragged around the city by the Khattakan. He had video footage of this.

So please dont come and tell me that you think only the black turbaned ones have access to these sorts of things.

Afghanistan2010 ...Sorry I'm not here to comment on fictional stories; especially consdering. One needs to just look at the story itself and know that such a feat would require knowledge of NATO weapons technology. Something unlikely to be had by some joe schmoe off the street. But Taliban members who have bomb making experience would have.

I don't need to respond to every fabricated exercise in creative fiction ..when the holes in the story are obvious.

Sorry I can't be as "adult" and gullibly believe every nonsense story some one writes on a whime.
