Islamabad: After sending Mr Yousuf Raza Gilani home, it seems the Supreme Court of Pakistan would not hesitate in summoning Chief of the Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani if the law enforcement agencies don’t mend their ways in Balochistan.
The apex court, which is largely respected by the people of Pakistan and termed as a last hope for the nuclear armed nation, is all set to resume hearing a case pertaining to law and order situation and forced disappearances of political workers in Balochistan, on Wednesday.
The court has summoned Inspector General of Frontier Constabulary (FC) Major Gen Ubaidullah Khan Khattak and Defence Secretary Nargis Sethi. The FC is accused of kidnapping and throwing bodies of people in the south western province of the country and during the last hearing, Chief Justice of Pakistan expressed displeasure of the FC’s role in bringing the situation under control in Balochistan.
The CJ had ruled that the court might summon Gen Kayani to get his version on how the situation could be improved in the province.
History of the present Supreme Court judges suggest that they would not hesitate in making the army chief to stand in the dock.

The CJ and the SC made history yesterday by ousting Gilani and dissolving his government.

They have already summoned Kayani for missing persons cases in Balochistan.

Nope.. Pakistan Army is THE most powerful institution, the Judiciary here is acting as their sword arm and because of their own interests. The PA itself directly can not interfere overtly with the civilian government because of the Kerry-Lugar Bill.

BTW the new PPP guy selected to be PM got himself arrested. Looks like the chief justice is letting Zardari know that he needs to drop cases against his son or he will shoot down any PM his party selects. (=:

So .. PM Gilani is sent packing by the judge whose son is charged with accepting bribes on his fathers behalf. Its the same judge who took oath under military dictator [Musharraff] and validated its rule, its the same judge who validated the usurpation of an elected govt hence making mockery of the Constitution.

It can only happen in Bakistan where entire media is bought by one businessman [Malik Riaz], cricketers are bought by bookies, artists are bought by India, teenagers are bought by Wahabbis, military is bought by Amreeka and politicians are bought by the highest bidder.

Buddy, Pakistan does not have an elected government. Musharraf with his Western friends helped put in this puppet regime. The SC was primarily responsible for removing the Western/NATO slave Musharraf from power. In fact, Chaudry was put under arrest.

You seem to be very disappointed at the prospect of Kayani getting ousted by the SC. I see because he has supported the NATO war with supply routes and by token Pashtun bloodshed- this is probably the logic behind your thinking

If I was a Pakistani, I would rather support a corrupt PM elected by an imperfect system rather than a corrupt CJ appointed and supported by a corrupt authoritrian army.

I am saying that CJ will not remove Kayani simply because he is Army's proxy. He is carrying out Pak Army's agenda of keeping the civilian leadership of Pakistan weak and unstable.

I will explain this more simply : if Pakistan were a man, than Pak Army is its brain/head and CJ its hand. Now why will the hand chop off the head ? Totally illogical, no ? (=:

The CJ brought Mushrraf down. This completely ridicules your conspiracy that the Court is a Pakarmy proxy.

It looks like everything that doesnt fit according to what you may want is a PakArmy proxy. Afghan insurgency- Pak Army proxy. You might as well term the whole Arab Spring a Pakistan proxy too.

Comparing Musharraff and Kayani is like comparing apples and oranges. When Musharraff was removed he was doing the front seat driving in Pakistan and getting blamed for all the Pakistan's problem. There was a very active and public movement against him. Pak Army had to consent to his removal or risk a revolution like situation. [ Paki Spring (=: ]

That is not the case with Kayani. He is quite happy with being a back-seat driver: a king-maker rather than the king. There is no public movement against him or the army today in Pakistan. Infact, if he was appoint himself the President, Pakis will be quite happy with it. But that is not going to happen as he is quite happy with the current situation: the civilian government getting all the blame and PA all the credit, besides there's the Kerry-Lugar Bill .

Anyways, as I have said before this whole drama doesn't mean anything and being enacted solely for the purpose of distracting attension from the CJ's corrupt son, with the blessings of Kiya-nahi/Army who want the civilians weak .
