Afghan militants kill 2 NATO troops
Published By United Press International
KABUL, Afghanistan, May 20 (UPI) -- An attack on NATO forces in southern Afghanistan killed two soldiers Sunday, the International Security Assistance Force announced.
The terse release didn't give details of the attack or the nationalities of the victims in accordance with its policy of allowing the "relevant national authorities" to disclose details after victims' families have been notified, the Khaama Press said.
This year, at least 160 soldiers in the NATO coalition have been killed in Afghanistan. That includes 110 from the United States, 20 from Britain and 30 from various other NATO allies.
Most recently, two U.S. troops were killed by a Taliban rocket attack on a military base Friday in the eastern province of Kunar.
