  • Helmand Man Saves Schools by Giving His Life

i don't normally steal articles from other forums but this time i would because of all the negativity in this forum today. not that a man losing his life is anything good but he died for a reason worth dying for.

Shah Muhammad was on routine duty guarding two school in Dasht area of Helmand's capital Lashkargah when two men came with explosives and with intentions to blow up the schools.

According to a provincial media office press release, Shah Muhammad resisted however was severely beaten by the two armed men. Leaving him unconscious and thinking that Shah Mohammad was dead, the terrorists started to plant land mines inside the school building. However, luckily, Shah Mohammad stood up and opened fire on the men with is a gun killing one and wounding the other, the officials said. According to the government statement, the Taliban who wanted to destroy the school did not notice Shah Muhammad's weapon while beating him.

A government spokesperson told AfghanWatch that later Shah Mohammad and the wounded terrorist were taken to Lashkargah emergency hospital. "Unfortunately Shah Mohammad, due to severe beating of the Taliban, died there," said the official.

"The governor and the residents of Helmand province not only salute the bravery and courage Shah Mohammad showed to save the schools but also deem him as a true hero. The governor and people of Helmand are deeply saddened upon his death as he has given away his life countering the enemies of education and are with his family in this hour of grief," statement from Helmand governor's office stated.

Helmand is one of those provinces where schools are burnt down on daily basis by the insurgents and Shah Mohammad’s act of bravery is praise worthy. It is still unknown whether the saved schools were for girls or boys.

    Many Afghans have come out to praise Shah Mohammad's courage and have created a Facebook page demanding the Afghan government to;

    ·
Name a Helmand city square, a road and one of the schools with his name.
    ·
Start giving an educational award on Shah Mohammad's name.
    ·
Take care of Shah Mohammad's family and look after their safety and education.

Now why would they put land mines there? Landmines are not powerful enough to destroy schools and are normally used against civilians? Why the h3ll would they want to blow up kids if the aim is to destroy the school?

Any other source for this story?

It's not a forum, it's what is called a blog.

I can't find ANY other data than this text on this blog.

Everyone can make up a story and post it on his blog.

      Nice fairy tale, though.

      I almost shed a tear.

made up or not, why do you feel a sting at the thought of a school full of innocent children being saved by a security guard?

you know why i question the authenticity of the article, because my relatives some in afghanistan work as security guards for schools, but they never had any problems with the islamic emirate or was bombed or burned,if it really got hot he left the place and the islamic emirate never attacked a school or burnt it for some reasons this is just false allegations as always.

When Islam teachs education how can the taliban forbid it , meaning ? lies oui!
