I don't have any sisters so i guess i can't really see the parent's point of view, but regardless sooner or later i think we all have to face these kinda issues..if not now then maybe down the road..point is you need to be able to pick up behavioural changes in young kids/teens at a much earlier stage so you can remedy the situation before it leads to something irreversible.
Ay da nar bachya, os de khabara okra kana.
Talaal raised a very important point. We all living abroad in an environment which is totally opposite of what we see in Afghanistan or Pukhtunkhwa.
Now how will handle the situation of this type or what will be your response to the situation of this type if each of you face such thing.
It is really difficult situation but it is a reality we have to face.
I want your answers separate from of each of you.

    Thank you

seriously?? How is what Obama doing related to a father murdering his children?? Because Obama is the president of USA, we should leave our children astray and then murder them when they turn out differently the we imagined for them to magically end up being someday??

I am no bird, and no nest ensnares me.

Any father murdering anyone´s children is a murderer.
Lack of empathy was my point.

If Obama can bomb, order to kill or torture people to death by his orders, then there is no difference between his actions and that of Mr. Shafia.

He receives the Noble Peace Price (what a joke, if people like Kissinger can receive it, too), Shafia gets a prison term.

Your interpretation of my words was slightly wrong.

if an afghan parent or father doesn't have any sympathy for his own children, who are we to expect empathy from america or it's president of all the people? yeah i get it, 99.9% of our problems are caused by the stupid americans, pakistanies, iranies or arabs. the rest of it is our own fault so we have to face them, be realistic and figure out a solution for it. zma pa zrra ki yaw arman dey chi dasey yaw afghan ya pakhtun wogoram chi owaye chi ghalatee chi shawey zma khpal beaqaltob la lasa shawey. if the honor of this man was so dear to him, he wouldn't have landed his wife son and himself in jail for the rest of their lives.
obama has managed to steal enough of our time and attention. time to move on and be productive with whatever is left of it.

                Just to recap:

... The June 2009 discovery of the drowned bodies — the three Shafia daughters, Zainab, 19, Sahar, 17, and Geeti, 13, and their father’s first wife, Rona Amir Mohammad, 52 — left workers at Batshaw in shock, Ms. Bérard said.

The prosecution said the killings were an honour crime committed to avenge what the father considered his daughters’ shameful behaviour.
Batshaw has reviewed its policies and taken steps to avoid a similar tragedy, she said. It has re-affirmed the need to take into account “ethno-cultural elements” when it evaluates the risk faced by a child.
The Shafias are originally from Afghanistan, though they lived in Dubai before immigrating to Canada in 2007.

“We are making a very active move to strengthen our links with community leaders, especially from those communities where there has been patriarchal dominance and gender-based violence. We have to work more closely with them around that,” she said.

“There is a fine balance between being understanding and being complacent. I don’t think we were complacent, but again we never expected that this horrible extreme would be possible in our country, and in our services. So now we certainly are less innocent than we were.”

Kill them at home. Not sure how. But by suffocation. Without any signs of struggle left on their body. Then drag their bodies into one of your own cars. With the help of your son and wife.

Then drive that car with four dead bodies into a lake.

Then have your son call the police and tell them that he got into a car accident. And then have him deny he did that and not mention at all that he was at the scene of the crime.

Then the next day call the police and say that their missing?

You seriously believe this was the father's plan?

It would be plausible if he killed his 19 and 17 year old daughter for honors sake...but the 12 year old? And the barren wife? What kinda honor were they harming?

The man was from kabul...when is the last time you heard a kabuli kill his daughters because they had bfs? Srsly...
ok so how does 2 bad daughters, a barren first wife who wanted a divorce and a third daughter die under mysterious circumstances, with the father expressing joy that they died? how so, if not a murder?

I dont know about this one.
On one hand this family looks too liberal to care about such thing as who the daughters date or worry about the elder wife divorcing. The daughters wears short skirts, the second wife who is arrested isnt wearing a shawl on her head, the old man has no beard.

on the other hand how could the father say that stuff about his daughters who are dead. I dont understand that part.
