These people were forced to live on waste land outside Calais, waiting to try get an opportunity to make it to England. When the bulldozers came in to break up their camps, they protested.

Whilst refugee stories were nothing to really gloat about in Pakistan and Iran, apparently Europe was "struggling" to accomodate 700 stranded Afghans would were bleeding their resources - you know sapping up their electricity, running water and the milking the benefits of the state.

Europe has only more than couple of millions of Pakistanies and Iranian, let alone the new wave of millions of refugees from other parts of the world including Afghanistan. I doubt they the 700 hundred refugees stranded in Calais were due "struggling" and also as you would put it "you know sapping up their electricity, running water and the milking the benefits of the state". It was eventually may be being tought afterall. Europe still takes refugees, may be the criteria is probably strckter.

I can tell you with confidence that there are more Pakistanis on state benifit and involved in drugs and crimes in UK only the the entire Afghan community. Your "not gloat" about Pakistan and Iran with the West is laughable - try to do that in the next coupple of centuries or even more.
