Sterilization is a short-term approach to the population problem, just like most of Govt's programs. As the NGO worker points out education and development especially from the perspective of the girl child will be a better method.
Not trying to find faults with the story but it seems like they didnt do a lot of research. a) Female sterilization was recently introduced and for as far back as I can remember it was always male sterilization programs that the govt. pushed. b) I didn't watch beyond 8 minutes but it seems like its just one state (Rajasthan) where female sterilization has been introduced at this scale. Not a national issue.
