Govt should stop op against Taliban: Faqir

LONDON (Online) - TTP commander Maulvi Faqir Muhammad said on Tuesday that the government should stop operation against the Taliban if it was serious in holding peace dialogue.
Talking to BBC from an undisclosed location in Afghanistan, he said: “Since peace dialogue and operation (against the Taliban) are not possible at a time, the government should stop all kinds of operation against the extremists if it wanted to establish confidence.” He did not clear whether he was ready for talks with the government or not. He said the Taliban would defend those who would support Islamic ideology and Islamic countries. “If the government carries on the operation, it will create disappointment.”
