Dear Comrad, I am sure that America had its dirty fingers in the SU's Afghanistan war.
But do You really think SU is not to blame on what they did?
I can even agree again, they may have had even the highest intentions - but was what they did correct?

afghanistan and russia were never with eachother and russia was an invading force on the remaining of muslim empire after it fell.
from one side it was the british empire and from the other it was the russian empire.Both of these empires worked in an orchesterated fashion like they also did at the time of ww2 against germany.

both had their ugly eye on Afghanistan and both got their eye stabbed.

russians thought they are superior and could capture Afghanistan liek they did to tajikistan uzbekistan etc but look what happend to them,the same goes for american empire in which russia is included.

I think Afghanistan has why to dislike Russia -we do not dislike Russia because we never had that kind of war with Russia - but it is normal that after what happened their is no positive feeling for Russia, even if Russias people surely have no bad intentions towards the government- but what did the SU?

A few realistic points about Gaddafi:
1. Let us not forget history. It was Italy that occupied Libya and corralled its people like Cattle in concentration camps. The true hero of Libya was Omar Mukhtar.

He led a native resistance against the Italians and died for his cause. In fact both sides, the "Senussi" Benghazi faction and Gaddafi's faction appealed to his image to sanctify their rule.

King Idris and his faction were pro Western and Gaddafi come to power to emulate Nasser to implement secular Arab nationalism at all costs.

2. Gaddafi went on to assume that Pan Arab Nationalism, in the stylings of DeGamal would lead the Arabs toward greatness. He suppressed all voices of dissent, religious, secular, and the like. He sent hit squads abroad to kill innocent Libyans as well.

3. He was an opportunist who also forged new relationships with M16 and CIA when it suited him and tortured families sent to him for the task:

4. This does not take away from an honest assessment on him, which is that he did stay, and unlike Najib, hiding like a dog in his UN sanctioned house, he led a resistance from Sirte.

Basically, Gaddafi and Saddam Hussein are on the same boat.

Saddam, for years, at the US's behest viciously attacked Iran and killed many Iranians and many Iraqis and then they let him walk himself into Kuwait. Gaddafi was really no different.

Whatever the benefit for the Western Powers which have interevened again in a world that they should have stayed out of... they still demonstrate an ability to use and abuse their puppets (Ben Ali, Gaddafi, Mubarak, Assad, etc) who end up being eaten alive by their own people.

Contrast this with the end of Mukhtar and other brave heroes who died at the hands of their enemies, not surrendered over by the populace.
