Please take a look at my thread http://www.pashtunforums.com/world-n...gaddafi-22076/

Gaddafi was a good ruler and right to be a leader. That is why he ruled for so long.
American and the British are an ally so they attacked Libya for oil. Oil is the most wanted resource in the world. China gets oil by trading and America gets oil by killing. These foolish Libyans do not know what they are doing. Gaddafi did not even kill any of his people. He loved his people so much that he provided good healthcare, education, homes, no interests, food, misc. Libya is the most advanced Islamic country in the world.
Because of Gaddafi. So remember this people, Gaddafi was great!

So basically, if one kills his own countrymen, destroys his own country, requests NATO to bomb and invade his land to overthrow a progressive Muslim leader, they should be only forgiven if they hate the hand that feeds them.

What a load of buffolo testicles!

Afghanistan2010, that is whats going to happen, Nato will get the oil, the country will go to civil war, and people like you will use Libya as a staging ground for the Wahabi emerite!

Its a process that only benefits the western powers not the Muslim world.

For exampel : A communist will never write wrong articles against his brother.

Another exampel : which country did support Ghaddafi to the last days ?...

Syria , because he himselfs (Assad actually Kalb) sees in the same position.

false because there have been negative articles posted Russia in China, they were both Communists

              your argument is logically false.

great leaders don't get toppled by massive uprisings, nato or no nato.

ill hold my judgement for this new government when the results match the rhetoric.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

Sure communists have their own tribes and can be rivals with each other. Chinese communists were rivals to Soviet communists.

It's too early to see who will win in Syria. I'm not sure if AlQaeda/etc have started fighting in Syria yet, like they did in Libya. But obviously Assad has used much more force against the public than Gaddafi did.

That's why Taliban could not defeat Masood. He had the support of his people. No possibility of creating local uprising against him.

in 5 years the taliban took kabul from massoud and had him cornered in panjshir, the only reason he was even standing at that point was because of russian support. not very comparable.

I am no qadafi fan but he was not toppled by his own people. the new governmnet is starting out on an unethical footing which historically never amounted to anything.

They were pushed and supported by imperial forces( and the imperial forces did most of the fighting).
They tortured and then killed their foe without a trial. If he surrendered, then he has the right to defend his actions in a trial.
They are targeting and killing ethnic touregs just for suspicion of supporting their foe.

So far I see nothing but a bunch of cowards in the making.

lets not pretend that there are a massive amount of libyans who didnt despise gaddafi, if i am wrong then there will be some sort of resistance in the coming months and years. but i dont think i am.

they were about as excited to kill gaddafi as the taliban were to kill najib. gaddafi gets the benefit of the doubt because he at least had some decent intentions during his rule, but he came down on muslims with an iron fist during much of his rule.

I am not convinced that gadafi was that much hated in libya. I am also not saying that he was loved either. He did provide more to his people than his peers. Peace in Libya depends on if they can keep the tribal confedarcy together the way gadafi had kept them together. Peace or no peace, Libya has a lot of oil and the pillaging of Libya is unavoidable.

One must examine this man to know why he did what he did. He was a secular socialist that hated the west because of the wests imperialistic policies in libya. He kicked out the monarchy that Italy installed and he kicked out the Italians. He was inspired by Nassars Arab nationalist ideology as the answer to European imperialism and crushed anything that clashed with that ideology and he supported everything that was a headache to the west like the IRA, the PLO, abu nidal, etc.
The west hated him and labeled him as the mad dog of the middle east because he was the least cooperative out of all the dictators and he was outspoken and direct instead of two face. He was the last out of all the old school Arab nationalists that were inspired by Nassar.

If this was a peoples revolution, then they would not need NATO warplanes and special forces on the ground. Remember Libya did not really have a powerful army. Militarily, they were about as strong as the Taliban before 9/11. The Taliban were taken out the same way, warplanes and special forces. The difference is that the Taliban had huge amounts of support in Pakistan and a safe haven to regroup.

This is one reason I say that if you take NATO out of Afghanistan, the Taliban are not going to need Pakistani troops nor warplanes to take it over. It would be a peoples revolution. It is impossible for proxies to win without direct help in this case it was NATO warplanes and special forces in both Libya and Afghanistan.

In Iraq, since Saddam had a powerful army, the US had a difficult time propping up a viable proxy even with a safe haven in northern Kurdistan, they had no choice but to use hundreds of thousands of US troops.

the uprising happened before nato intervention and had gained ground. it would of taken a lot longer and many more people would of died but eventually the outcome would of been the same. look at syria, it doesn't look too great for assad, and thats with no rebel groups fighting him.

as for iraq, saddams army was a joke. it only looked good on paper back in 91 but the west destroyed it with complete ease, in 2003 it was easier since iraq only had early 90s so so tech, and that was the leftovers. i think they sent in hundreds of thousands of troops because they expected a better fight, and at that time the taliban resistance was almost at 0 so they didn't expect a big guerrilla war in iraq.
