Libyan Rebels Banish U.S. Student Who Joined Fighting for Summer Vacation

The usual vacation spots apparently didn’t get 21-year-old UCLA student Chris Jeon’s adrenaline pumping. So a few months ago he decided to hop on a flight and join the Libyan rebels in their ground campaign against Gadhafi.

Jeon was quite a sight alongside the motley crue of Libyan rebel fighters covered in kalashnikovs and bandoliers of ammunition. The Christian Science Monitor described Jeon’s battefield dress as:
“A cobalt basketball jersey emblazoned with the words “Los Angeles” and the number 44, camouflage pants, and black and white Converse sneakers. Around his neck hangs a spent ammunition casing on a string, and a black and white scarf is wrapped around his head, courtesy of the rebel fighters.”
Jeon speaks no Arabic and was only able to communicate with the rebels in broken Italian. When asked about his motivations for joining the Libyan rebels, Jeon told the Christian Science Monitor:
“At spring break I told my friends a ‘sick’ vacation would be to come here and fight with the rebels. This is one of the few real revolutions, I just thought I’d come check it out.”
The most recent reports, though, indicate Jeon’s adventure tourism has come to an end. Al Jazeera English‘s Evan Hill tweeted that rebels decided they had had enough of Jeon, and despite his enthusiasm for ride-along Jihad, sent him home.
Jeon should count himself lucky. A father and son from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania joined the Libyan rebels as well, and they were killed instantly when a mortar round hit their vehicle.
Last time he was seen, Jeon was heading towards Benghazi on a pickup truck.
No word yet on whether Jeon will head to Syria next to “take in the sights.”

Afghanistan2010, your kind are just good for one thing, fighting for American/Zionist/Arab oil company interests. Thats all!

Libya will become nothing but a infested crap hole packed with Armed Jihadis who will turn their guns on their own fellow Muslims!

If you had any brain cells at all, you would know, that Qadafi brought Libya out of the "Middle ages", he brought development and education to the land, lets see what your kind bring in this deluded revolution of yours, paid by Nato and the Zionist lobby.

If you had any brain cells, you would know, the first person to introduce this planned invasion of Libya by Nato, was a Zionist Jew called Bernard Levy, who is a associate of Sarkozy, you bring Insult to the whole progressive Muslim society and community.

You want to infest the Muslim world with the same "trash minded individuals" who destroyed Afghanistan with Western/Arab/Pakistani dollars!

Have some Shame jolly ol chap!

Accept reality.....Libyan rebels would have been silenced and finished months ago if it wasnt for Nato's assistance.

You will always remain the proxy of the Kaffirs!

    Hahaha!

I have not presented a single comment on behalf of the Libyan rebels nor i offered any support for their actions.

So put this sh*+ty comment in Toi, ta gueule métèque >

As i said im against Ghaddafi and his people because they were enemies of Allah and his Messenger and this does not mean i support NATO or the Rebels.
High achievement always takes place in the framework of high expectation.

I'm upset about the Touaregs being targeted.
      I think they're neat.

I didn't want to look at the article, but would be interested in any updagtes.

      ++++++++++++

That's fascinating to me about this Henri Bernard-Levy, the French
"philosopher" who brags about his closeness to Mossad.
      He's terribly influential.
And Sarkoczy has Jewish blood anyway, though he plays that down,
pretending to be a Catholic [yet parading his disgusting prostitute-type wife
for all the world to see ].
Sarkoczy IS very influenced by Jewish friends and probably is just a tool of Israel.

But where is some evidence about Henri Bernard Levy having
      originated the idea ?
I can believe it for sure, I just want to know more.

Gaddafi sodomized: Video shows abuse frame by frame

Maybe Mr Al-Arab can comment to us if this was Islamic behavior? (If he's still here, that is - maybe he's run off to the Libya discussion board for the newer more fashionable jihad)

The NCT and all the people who fought along with NATO while knowing it was forbidden by Allah SWT are murtads, same thing for Kadhafi because of his green book's idolatry. The ignorants who took part in the fightings could be forgiven but they have to do repent and reject NTC and NATO.

The killings near Sirte, after cellphone video footage was taken showing the captive Gaddafi being beaten and mocked by fighters apparently from Misrata, are also a matter of controversy -- at least outside Libya. The United Nations human rights arm has joined the Gaddafi family in seeking an inquiry.
NTC chairman Mustafa Abdel Jalil told a news conference on Monday that the NTC had formed a committee to investigate.
He also indicated that the interim authorities still held to an official line that Gaddafi may have been killed in "crossfire" with his own men, a view many NTC officials themselves seem ready to discount.
"Those who have an interest in killing him before prosecuting him are those who had an active role with him," said Abdel Jalil, who like many of the new leadership held positions of authority under Gaddafi.
Adding to concerns about Libya turning over a new leaf on respect for individuals, New York-based Human Rights Watch called on the NTC to probe an "apparent mass execution" of 53 people, apparently Gaddafi supporters, whom it found dead, some with their hands bound, at a hotel in Sirte.
Few Libyans seem troubled either about how Gaddafi and his entourage were killed or why their corpses were displayed for so long in what seemed a grim parody of the lying-in-state often reserved for national leaders.
"God made the pharaoh as an example to the others," said Salem Shaka, who was viewing the bodies in Misrata on Monday.
"If he had been a good man, we would have buried him. But he chose this destiny for himself."
The killing of fallen autocrats is far from a novelty. In Europe in living memory, similar fates befell Nicolae Ceausescu in Romania in 1989 and Benito Mussolini, who had created modern Libya as an Italian colony a decade before he died in 1945.
However, some of the anti-Gaddafi rebels' Western allies have expressed disquiet about the treatment of Gaddafi after his capture and after his death, and worry that Libya's new leaders will not uphold their promise to respect human rights.
"They were not pleasant images," said British Prime Minister David Cameron, an early supporter of the rebellion.
"Everyone understands that is not what should have happened. It should have ended in a trial and should have ended in Gaddafi facing justice," Cameron told parliament in London.
As their Tunisian and Egyptian neighbors whose uprisings inspired Libyans to revolt held or contemplated free elections, fellow Arabs also voiced distaste at Gaddafi's treatment, even though sympathy for the fallen strongman was in short supply.
"Forty-two dark years under a merciless dictator has naturally left the Libyan people very damaged," said Mahmoud Nofal, a 36-year-old bank employee in Cairo.
"It has driven them mad for revenge. The rotting body is just emblematic of the rotten political and social environment under Gaddafi."
                .

I am sure bernard Levy is a better source, or nato, or the zionist media? Dude, just accept your country's only future is going to be open to be looted by western/arab oil companies, and most of your population will become nothing but refugees or slave labourers in some other gulf arab state!

                    Its not hard!

Al hanif, are you trying to say, the green book that brought Libya out of the "middle ages" should be considered Haraam. If so, no wonder people call you backward and a obstacle towards moving on. And, this sudden change of hearts, must have some motive, did you find your Islamist friends are nothing but proxies of Nato, and no sane minded person would want to associate with you.

Dear most of my relatives are in Libya , I don't need Nato or whatever to tell me the situation .

As for oil... that's another topic, my reply was mainly about Libyans killing people of dark skin because of their colour .

By the way do you know the population of Libya ?? and its world rank in terms of size ?

you have no right to call them Murtads.

And as for Nato's support ,did you know that around 30 000 were killed in months ??

And please read about when to call someone a Murtad .

Its not just haram it is an insult to Allah and his Messenger (pbuh)

because he ruled with his own desires and teachings instead with Shariah.

His end was to be through an islamic court death probably by firing squad.
