Jinkay, it is meant to be a consultative Jirga which will frame the the ground rules (or some) in achieving peace with the belligents/insurgents aka Taliban, Haqani, Hekmatyar and the govt. Much will revolve on the reintegration plan agreed in the London conference, which will integrate low and mid level opposition forces and their leaders offered exile in another friendly muslim country or even amnesty. Any deal with Mullah Omar for the first time is also ruled out by the government. Shortly we shall find out, much obscurity has been lingering over the aims and purpose of this Jirga.

Nah that is fine, I wanted to know what the mode is on Afghan tv channels, particularly RTA and the other major ones. Thanks Niazi wrora any way. I will just stream the ones availble online.

jirgas fail to serve their purpose since they have lost their point and value in afghanistan. gone are the days when issues could still be solved through jirgas.
