Indian Muslims follows Islam & Majority of them dunt mix politics/occupation with religion..I do live in area dominated by Muslims..Most of them having business here rather then doing jobs.. In my ancestors' village in the state of Gujarat, more than 50% population is of business oriented Muslims & indeed more wealthy then Hindus.

The whole situation is more complicated than it seems and this is not the sort of place, with all the immature people and posters who deliberately lie and twist (not you, others about other issues) what people say, to discuss something as important as relations between Indian and the People's Republic of Bangladesh.

India is a physical reality. It is our neighbour. I want BD to have positive relations with both of our direct neighbours, and all of our region (Nepal, Bhutan, China). Let's hope Dhaka & New Delhi can resolve all bi-lateral problems.

The situation of Indian Muslims is not as bad as Pakistani nationalists make it out to be e.g. Zakir Naik and his channel. Would he be operating a channel if Muslims were nothing but killed in India? The Indian government provides funding for Hajj and legally recognizes Islamic shari'ah law for marriage and other things.

However nor is it as rosy as others point out.

There are regions of India where Muslims are very strong and live in peace, there are other places, and in other ways, where they face problems.

The best thing is to be responsible and not misuse this sensitive issue for propaganda purposes as Zaid Hamid types would.

If you think Bollywood to be a microcosmic depiction of Indian society, I am sure you have misconception like,
-a Bollywood hero can beat up 10 baddies and not get injured, or
-every Indian woman compulsively dresses up to her best even when she's chopping vegetables at home, or
-Indian families regularly break out into a song and dance routine every few days

Dont believe all that you see in movies.
