Yes, you're probably right. The 2008 recession was exaggerated and the media and authorities for some reason like to keep people in a state of fear.

However long term the old economies of the west are going to stagnate whilst the new fresh virgin economies of the east are going to rise with a concomitant transfer of political power too.
