Riyadh: The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Tuesday announced that it has finalised mobilising international support for Palestinians in their bid to obtain membership of the United Nations.
A source said the OIC Secretary-General, Professor Ekme Al Deen Ihsanoglu has intensified contacts with several European and international parties to rally support for the right of Palestinians to gain international recognition and UN membership.
Earlier, Ihsanoglu pointed out that under the faltering Palestinian-Israeli peace negotiations as a result of Israeli violations, it has become necessary, now more than ever, to have a real role for the international community and particularly in the recognition of the Palestinian borders.
Last week, Ihsanoglu made contacts with the Palestinian National Authority to coordinate efforts in support of the right of Palestinians to obtain international recognition and UN membership.

The OIC will hold three meetings in New York during September 18-25 on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, to discuss the question of Palestine as well as means and ways of supporting the bid for United Nations membership.

it is obvious that the UN is a simple tool of the US.

Perhaps, in light of the irreversible US economic decline, it is time to discard the UN, and form a new world body? It would be interesting to see it done because besides the usual suspected allies of the US government, who else would object?

If the US either vetoes or delays the Palestinian Independence Bid (both are equally outrageous, reprehensible, and open declarations of aggression against Palestine), then the UN has no use to the world body, and it would be better if the civil world formed a new world organization. Peace and anti-war Nations ought to discard and reject the meaninglessness of the UN. If it was that simple. The only time this will happen is when the Muslim world finally controls their OIL, and hikes up the price to whatever they deem fit.

China has shown a peaceful war- and it is called economic warfare where a nation or group of nations can exercise their right to not sell any oil to nations they deem aggressors. Obviously, such a scenario entails that these nations possess defense capabilities and deterrence. This is why nations are all in pursuit of becoming nuclear powers. it would be ideal for oil producing nations to have such deterrence. In absence of such deterrence, it is then reasonable to gravitate to China since it has become the sole superpower in the world. This is the best path to peace and prosperity throughout the world. China fully supports the Palestinian Independence bid.

If they do deny this, then the Palestinians ought to be brazen, discard their consideration, and call for the complete occupied Palestine to be evacuated of the illegal occupants.

World has changed. No need to be tolerant anymore when it gets the Palestinians nowhere. Their toleration has only resulted in more crimes committed against them.

The changing dynamics of world power favor such a position to be taken.

All cards are stacked against Israel. Peace now or don't exist at all in say 20 years.
