PressTV - Kandahar bombing kills NATO workers

A powerful explosion has rocked the troubled southern Afghan city of Kandahar, killing at least two NATO employees and wounding 21 others, Press TV reported.

The causalities come after a bomb attack targeted a NATO logistic convey on the outskirts of Kandahar City on Sunday.

The number of US-led soldiers among the dead or injured is not yet clear. However, the death toll is expected to rise as some of the injured are said to be in critical condition.

No group has so far claimed responsibility for the bombing, but the attack had all the hallmarks of Taliban militants.

Violence in Afghanistan is on the rise as militants have expedited their spring offensive.

The rising number of foreign casualties has stoked opposition to the Afghan war in NATO member states as well as in countries that have contributed troops to the war.

NATO has admitted that the power of militants in Afghanistan is on the rise despite the presence of about 150,000 US-led forces in the war-hit country.
