Hardly "news" to veteran watchers, but truth leaks out
to the general public.
My belief is that the source here speaks very
carefully and hence TOO tentatively.
It's probably the case that 90 - 95% of
American personnel, including subcontractors,
are on the outlook for info
at the minimum.
They wouldn't BE there roaming around Pakistan
otherwise.
No general American except a bona fide "do-gooder" -
perhaps such as PF's member Zayam who runs a charity to assist Swat women,
would be there in the decade of the 2000's for
any OTHER reason than to assist directly or
indirectly in US government operations.
Some are military, maybe "Swat teams" - -
and some are involved in infrastructure, but all work for
the same general goal of undermining Pakistan from inside,
destabilizing it to ensure easy takeover by Washington and Tel Aviv, etc. Also to form bases to infiltrate and launch
terrorist attacks against Teheran.
Any who feel this is bad behavior could pray that these people will be all dug out and expelled from the region.
If they are kicked out of Pakistan, they will go set up shop
in Qatar or somewhere and make trips back.
I feel some of these American operatives may be using the cover of adherents to various Sufi orders.
They may attach themselves to some Pir who will
shelter them -- willingly or unwillingly -- and vouch for them as his "Murids".
These may prove to be the last uncovered, as Pakistanis might be way too trusting of such religious cover stories. All the American or NATO agent has to say is
to praise Allah and sound sincere, and the Pakistani
investigator would let him / her off the hook.

Pakistan-U.S. relations have continued to be at odds over the past months and "the recent development of the Pakistani government not allowing more contractors from America to work inside Pakistan has furtherfueled controversies," Navid Ahmad, an Investigative Journalist told Press TV's U.S. Desk on Thursday.
"The Pakistani government believes that all these contractors and most or some of the diplomats present in Pakistan are not really doing the work [that] they are supposed to be doing and that is that there is an element of understanding that these people are either involved in spying or gathering information or trying to create networks," Ahmad said.
Reports say that Pakistan has given the United States a 40-day deadline to phase out over 250 of its diplomats.
