Anonymous, an Internet hacking group, has threatened to kill Facebook on Nov. 5.
A YouTube video on the warning started gaining prominence on Tuesday.

LulzSec and Anonymous hackers have targeted U.S. law enforcement agencies releasing the "largest cache yet" of stolen data yet.


"Your medium of communication you all so dearly adore will be destroyed," according to the group in the video. "If you are a willing hacktivist or a guy who just wants to protect the freedom of information then join the cause and kill Facebook for the sake of your own privacy." Facebook currently has 750 million users, as confirmed by Mark Zuckerberg last month.
Anonymous accuses the social network of selling users' private information to government agencies and security firms. The group claims that privacy settings are only a "delusion" as people's personal information stays on Facebook even after an account is deleted.

"Everything you do on Facebook stays on Facebook regardless of your privacy setting," the groups said.
"Facebook knows more about you than your family," they continued, adding that one day people will look back and realize that what the group has done is right.
Anonymous isn't a single entity. Instead, it links hackers all across the world.
AntiSec hacking group, which is linked to Anonymous, last week claimed it stole about 10 gigabytes of information and defaced police websites in retaliation against the arrests of cyber attack suspects.

Nov 5 is a good day usually -
so I will wait for this.
I would be THRILLED if these guys knocked out
facebook

They are right : it's full of evil and only way down the line
will this be totally obvious.

However, I wonder if the author above meant DEACTIVATED
instead of Deleted ?

Supposedly all info goes when account is DELETED.

But who KNOWS? This is all too new of a medium to be
able to assess accurately.

My opinion:
These Anonymous teams will be doing the entire world
a BIG favor to
cripple facebook hopefully permanently.

Then some new site will spring up.
But at least all the world's accounts will be wiped clean
and this time around anyone stupid enough to
participate on facebook will be
WELL warned about what they are risking.

As I said before, even the WORD is so
DUMB that it deserves to hit the dust.

There is nothing creative in this idiotic word.

Plus how many thousands of hours from mankind's
lives have been lost by all sorts of wasteful
indulgences here.
And, not to mention all those outright addicts who
would be freed up to pursue healthy and wholesome
pursuits ....

We'll wait for 11-5-11 !
