Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina has said that bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Spain are steadily growing in depth, and both the countries share common views on many international issues through common platforms like the United Nations (UN) and World Trade Organisation (WTO).

After the meeting, PM's Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad briefed journalists, saying that Sheikh Hasina mentioned Bangladesh wants enhanced trade and economic cooperation with Spain.

She also expressed happiness over the growing interest of Spanish businessmen to import Bangladeshi products.

She also conveyed her greetings to the Spanish Queen.

The Spanish ambassador praised the restoration of democracy in Bangladesh as well as recent peaceful holding of local government elections across the country.

Perez lauded Hasina for her government's programmes to bring healthcare services to the doorsteps of the people, as well as to building 'Digital Bangladesh'.

Other than the Press Secretary, Ambassador-at-large M Ziauddin, PM's Principal Secretary MA Karim and Secretary to the Prime Minister Molla Waheeduzzaman were also present.

Meanwhile, a power point presentation on short, mid and long term development plans on Tungipara and Kotalipara Upazila Complex was shown to the PM at her office in the city.

The plans include a long term strategic plan, a mid-term Urban Area Plan and a short-term Ward Action Plan.
