  • A Look At Taliban Weaponry

They are using weapons from the 1890's?

Since last year, The New York Times and At War have taken several different looks at insurgent arms and munitions in Afghanistan, which can yield information about how insurgents equip themselves and fight, and how the Taliban has been able to maintain itself as a viable force for more than 15 years.

i think those weapons are in such surplus, that they make use of them, but the weapons they are using are still vintage by todays standards- the AK-47, and the RPGs.

These Russian weapons have been and still are the weapons of choice for guerrilla movements for a long time. Add Chinese weapons to the mix.

In any case, this article is simply pathetic, they should be saying how the most technologically advanced country failed against Afghanistan.

Thats what they should be talking about. At one time, the richest country in the world (not now) versus one of the poorest countries in the world.

What a crime? How disgraceful their retreat is?
