    Leader: West propaganda targets Islam

PressTV - Leader: West propaganda targets Islam

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei says Western powers try to tarnish the image of Muslims through propaganda and distortion of realities.

“An example of Western propaganda [happened] in the recent crimes [committed] in a Northern European country, where from the very first hours they (the Western powers) tried to put the blame on Muslims,” the Leader said in his address to Iranian naval forces and Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) personnel in the southern port city of Bandar Abbas on Saturday night.

“This is indicative of evilness and falsity of the Western propaganda,” IRNA quoted Ayatollah Khamenei as saying.

The Leader was pointing to the recent terrorist attacks in Norway.

On Friday, at least 94 people were killed and scores injured in twin shooting and bomb attacks in the Norwegian capital, Oslo, and a nearby island.

One of the perpetrators of the terrorist incident, Anders Behring Breivik, who has made a confession to involvement in the armed attack, has extreme right-wing views.

Breivik had expressed his hatred for Muslims, leftist parties, and the youth wing of Norway's ruling Labor party on the internet before the shooting incident.

Ayatollah Khamenei also made a reference to the ongoing wave of Islamic awakening in the Middle East and North Africa and called on the Arab nations to persevere and not to be distracted from the main objectives of their revolutions.

“The only salvage for the regional nations is to take this path, the outcomes of which are gradually unfolding,” the leader added.

Since January two revolutions have led to regime changes in Tunisia and Egypt. Other popular uprisings have hit Libya, Yemen, Bahrain and the wave is spreading through other Arab countries.

PressTV - 'Oslo attacks are West's false flag ops'

'Oslo attacks are West's false flag ops'

Interview with Peter Eyre, Middle East consultant

          ‪'Oslo attacks are West's false flag ops'‬‏ - YouTube

The West is in pursuit of creating another police state with false flag operations and scaremongering tactics such as the latest deadly attacks in Norway.

Norwegians have observed a minute of silence to pay tribute to the victims of Friday's twin terror attacks in the capital Oslo and on a nearby island.

Opposite the main building of the University of Oslo, the royal family and Prime Minister led the moment of silence and opened a condolence book.

The man behind the tragedy that left scores dead has pleaded not guilty to terrorism charges in a brief closed-door hearing. The judge says he will remain in custody for the next eight weeks.

To further discuss the issue, Press TV talks with Peter Eyre, a Middle East consultant in London.

Press TV: First of all, many are wondering based on some of the entries on Facebook, why he is referred to as a right-wing Christian extremist and not a terrorist?

Eyre: Well, there are two types of Zionists in the world. There is Jewish Zionist and there is Christian Zionist. In some respects, the Christian Zionists are far more outrageous than their Jewish counterparts.

What concerned me on this issue was the fact that immediately right from the start all nations pointed their fingers at Islamist countries and that is deeply upsetting because this shows a trend throughout the west that never goes away and it was clear to me from the start that this was not anything to do with, shall we say, Islamic terrorism.

Press TV: Well, it is said that at the same time that doesn't it show that there was a lack of intelligence because they were so heavily as you mentioned pointing the finger towards Muslims or Islam having a role in this because what we can see what he had said that there are 80 other terror networks or cells, I should say, that exist in Europe?

Eyre: Well, you have to understand that these are extremists and they did the attacks. They are not regular occurrences. Personally, I do not think that they will ever stop them and in this case this guy had been advertising for quite some years that he was going to carry out this attack.

It is also obvious that he was also part of the Freemason, so when you look at the other picture, I guess, you could say it is part of what we call the New World Order.

I think he is absolutely diabolical the way this was panned out in the media and the fact that it took the police one and a half hour to get out to the island. Even the media helicopter was there ... when the police arrived.

Press TV: Taking a look at the personality of this character, he appears very smart in terms of the way he carried this out at the depth and level of these twin acts which have occurred along with that manifesto that he published not perhaps so typical when you compare it to other terrorists.

So doesn't that mean that really that at a minimum the intelligence community first of all what they should be zooming into and as a whole how that really finds the personality is based on the west perception which as evidence from the past usually points towards the Muslim and Islam?

Eyre: Well, I think there has always been a trend here where the west has always wanted to point the finger at the Islamic countries even though it is not relevant. It is like you could say the crusade war is still going on.

The big issue here is that when I spoke to some of these Christians extremist myself out in the street, in actual fact I went to an Islamic bookstore the other day and there were some Christians outside and they rarely believed that in repatriating Jewish people back to the holy land that Jesus will return and then there will be the army getting in and will go to war and trying to convert the Jewish into the Christian faith.

This is fanatical. This fanatical branch is in all faiths. So this is not an isolated situation but I believe that this was possibly allowed to happen and there was a big emphasis in the car bomb. I can assure you from my own experience that a lot of this damage was caused from internal bombs. So how did the bombs get into the government buildings?

Press TV: Looking back at some of the incidents that happen, it is a whole list. Muslim woman wearing Hijab or head covering removed from the line of the navy federal credit union in Maryland.

This is in the United States. Four Muslim men escorted off a Delta flight because of suspicious behavior. There are lots of examples that happen in the western world, in the United States, it happens in Europe.

There has got to be this perhaps do you think that will signify that there should be a change in the way that these types of incidents can be prevented or of course a change of culture in the way Muslims are viewed not only in the public but on television, etc?

Eyre: Absolutely. We have to change the mindset of everybody in the west. I would ask the question perhaps someone in the west government, military, intelligence departments, whatever would like to tell me when was the last attack by an Islamic group because most of the like 9/11 and 7/7 in Madrid were not Islamic related.

A lot of these were actually false flags and this is an ongoing scaremongering by the west with possibly another lean towards changing the roles within a country to make it more of a police state.

But the predominant thing here is they will always point to Islam and that is wrong and we should hold our heads in shame over this issue.
