PressTV - Four US-led troops killed in Afghan war
Four US-led NATO soldiers have been killed in separate incidents in Afghanistan as foreign troops continue to experience some of their deadliest days in the country.
NATO says a US-led soldier and an ISAF civilian were killed in an attack in the country's volatile east.
The military coalition, in line with its usual policy, has withheld other details about the incident.
Two American soldiers were also killed in a shooting by an Afghan guard.
Another US soldier was also wounded in the shooting that took place in the northern province of Panjshir.
The guard himself was also killed after American soldiers fired back.
The developments come at a time when the US-led war in Afghanistan seems to be at a crucial stage with militants believed to be gaining ground.
At least 294 US-led foreign forces have been killed in Afghanistan so far this year.
According to official figures, more than 2,575 US-led soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan since the US-led invasion of the country in 2001.
The security situation remains fragile in Afghanistan despite the presence of 150,000 US-led foreign forces in the country.
The increasing number of troop casualties in Afghanistan has caused widespread anger in the US and other NATO member states, undermining public support for the Afghan war.
