As for "Jinnahpur", that is an accusation which the MQM have rejected and apparently has been confessed to having been made up by the army. However Jinnahpur is real in the sense that if Pakistan were to ever break up then "Mohajirs" (Hindustanis) would not want to be part of an independent Sindhi state, especially as they consider Sindhis as inferior but an independent Mohajir state of "Jinnahpur" (name is unimportant, concept is).
Mohajirs had always been strong Pakistani nationalists and centrists from the start and the Jamat i Islami had been their traditional party and they are still strong Pakistani nationalists now.
The truth is they are looked down upon as inferior by Punjabis and others, and feel aggrieved by that, though their own Hindustani racism (I as a Bengali have experienced their racism) and superiority complex is fine.
They believe in the inherent superiority and "more Islamic" nature of their Hindustani Neo-Mughal culture and feel that all Muslims should assimilate to that, and they will never abandon their Urdu or Hindustani culture to be, say for instance citizens of an independent Sindh.
The goal of the MQM currently is a Hindustani-dominated Karachi within the federation of Pakistan, a strong Pakistan with complete rights for "Mohajirs". The goal of an MQM/Hindustani dominated Karachi means that the ANP/Pashtuns must be stopped or expelled in their eyes.
This is delusional as Pashtuns are going as far as Qatar and the UAE on the western side of the Arabian sea for work, so surely they will go to the eastern side within a country they supposedly belong to, Pakistan.
As I said:
West Pakistan, Hindustani nationalism was defeated by Ayub Khan.
East Pakistan, Hindustani (Bihari) nationalism was defeated by Colonel Osmani, Khaled Musharraf and other generals of the Bengali liberation army.
South Pakistan, it seems they are going to be defeated for once and for all, not by the Sindhi PPP or Bhutto, or by Naseerullah Babar and the army, or by the Punjabi Taliban but by the ANP and in particular Pakhtuns from FATA and Balochistan.
The ANP may do what the Mukhti Bahini did in 1971 and give a conclusive and decisive defeat to the Hindustani desire for domination, supremacy, and political, economic and cultural hegemony.
